Summer has officially arrived and now when I'm sitting here writing this post the Sun is actually out and shining and it is 25°. Summer has got to be one of my favourite months but it isn't very forgiving for our skin, So I thought I put this list together of all the products I use on my skin to get me through the summer months.

I think I'm very late to the party but I have only recently just started using the Pixi Glow Tonic and I have to say that it really does live up to the hype. I have only been using this product for a few weeks and I can already notice a difference in my skin. This toner is a Glycolic toner which is an exfoliating ingredient which removes dead skin cells to show healthier looking skin. I have added this toner into the list because of the exfoliating powers and the fact that it also includes Aloe Vera to soothe and hydrate the skin and also leaves the skin with a glowing complexion. When I use this toner my skin automatically feels refreshed and clean, I use this product morning and evening and just swipe it over my face after cleansing and I feel instantly nourished. This will be a product that I know I'll be using throughout the whole of the summer and I'll be purchasing the small version to take on my holiday!

Main Ingredients
  • Glycolic = The holy grail product for exfoliation
  • Ginseng = Improves circulation and energises the skin
  • Aloe Vera = Soothes and hydrates

Micellar water has been a part of my skincare routine for a few years now and I've recently just discovered the Simple Micellar water. I mainly used this product in the mornings as I like to just do a quick cleanse and get ready. I've added this product to this list because this cleanser I find add extra moisture which I need in the hot weather and it also helps to cool my skin and refresh it. I've taken this product with me on holiday numerous times and sometimes I'd use it to just refresh the skin after a long day in the heat and the sun. This product effectively removes makeup and impurities in seconds and also helps to boost the skin's hydration leaving it feeling hydrated and smooth. This micellar water has no added perfume, colours or harsh chemicals making it perfect for every skin type even sensitive skin.

Main Ingredients
  • Vitamin B3 = Works to prevent water loss and retain the skin's moisture
  • Vitamin C = Boosts the skin's collagen production and also has antioxidant properties
  • Glycerin = Treats oily skin conditions such as acne and acts as an emollient making skin moist and soft.

I got this suncream a whole year ago now in my June Birchbox, I had used it for a while last year and then repurchased it for this summer because of how much I loved using it. Whenever I think of suncream I think of a thick consistency and a white cast on the skin but this product doesn't do any of these. This suncream is a nice thin consistency and doesn't leave a white look to the skin, it sinks in pretty quickly and adds extra moisture leaving my skin feeling so smooth. This product feels a lot more like a nourishing moisturiser than a suncream because of how smooth it is and how soft it makes my skin feel. I also like to use this product as a face suncream, I don't like to use the normal body suncream on my face because I find they can be too thick and can clog the pores but when I use this product it just glides over the skin leaving it protected from the sun.

Main Ingredients
  • Sunflower Oil = Rich in vitamins A, C and E and antioxidants to regenerate new skin cells
  • Citric Acid = Helps to exfoliate the complexion resulting in the renewal of dead skin cells
  • Corn Starch = Can be used as a soother for skin irritations such as sunburn and skin allergies

This mask has been in my permanent skincare since I got it in my August Birchbox. This is a sleeping mask which means that you apply a thin layer after you have finished your skincare and then go to sleep and wake up with amazingly soft skin. This mask is pretty thick in consistency which I love as I feel like it really helps to nourish and hydrate the dry areas of my face. I like to use this product more during the hotter months because of how rehydrating the product is for my skin. The heat and sun seem to just draw all of the moisture of my skin and this mask helps to add all the moisture back in. I like to apply quite a thick layer on my skin when it's extra dry and it soaks into the skin quickly so you don't feel like your skin is too greasy before bed. This is a product that I'll be taking away with me for a nighttime pick me up for my skin.

Main Ingredients
  • Pomegranate = High in antioxidants to help nourish the skin
  • Kaolin = Cleanses and exfoliates dead skin cells
  • Sweet Almond Oil = Protects the skin from UV rays and helps keep skin looking smooth and soft because of the fatty acids

Even though this product technically isn't skincare for the face it is a body care product that I need to use during the summer. This product is a lightweight body oil which leaves the skin feeling satin-soft and looking amazing. I mainly like to use this product on summer evenings to give my skin an extra glow after a long day in the sun. This oil also helps to extra moisturise my skin, what I really like about this oil is that it's in a spray form so you apply just the right amount of product. This oil also soaks into the skin pretty quickly so you don't feel like your skin is too greasy and slippery. I also found that this product leaves the skin looking extra glowy making it perfect for a holiday night.

Main Ingredients
  • Coconut Oil = Reduces inflammation and keeps the skin moisturised
  • Vitamin E = Acts as an antioxidant and treats dry skin
  • Almond Oil = Keeps the skin cells healthy by retaining moisture

  1. I'm clueless when it comes to skincare (my skincare routine is pretty non-existent) so I'm really glad how descriptive you were in your reviews of each product! It's nice to be able to read what ingredients they contain, too, especially because I have eczema so I have to be really careful.

    1. That’s a shame! I could see glycolic being an issue for drier skin, what about their Rose toner? The sleeping mask is gorgeous and my fave feels amazing the next day! X

  9. Okay firstly, how gorgeous are these photos?! Your flatlays have improved so much!! 😍 the only product I've tried from this post is the Pixi Glow Tonix and much like you, it's been a very recent thing for me! I've known about it for years but to be honest someone wrongly told me that it was an acid peel and damaged your skin and I stupidly believed them. I've been absolutely loving it and it makes my skin feel so wonderful! I've seen such a difference in my blackheads and breakouts, too 😍

  10. Pixi Glow Tonic is forever a staple in my beauty regimen. Whenever I have a breakout, this product instantly shrinks the pimple. I use Simple Micellar Water and it's quite effective. I like adding body oils to my shower/bath routine, will definitely check out Soap & Glory's line because they have great scented products 😍👏🏾
