Korean Beauty is fast becoming very popular in the UK beauty industry and I've always been really interested in their products and now I have finally got a few sheet masks to try out. I took a trip down to my favourite shop Tk Maxx and brought a few different sheet masks from different K Beauty Brands to put them to the test!

Korean Beauty and skincare have become such a phenomenon in the Uk and around the world because of how different their techniques are to ours. They are focused a lot on hydration and skin health, their main philosophy is to have amazing looking skin without makeup witch is a philosophy that I think we all should live by.

Oh K Bubble Sheet Mask

I have seen this brand a lot recently with it being included in a lot of different subscription boxes like Birchbox and Glossybox. Oh K! is a brand that creates high-performing, playful and everyday beauty and skincare experiences which I think sounds amazing and I have to say that their packaging is amazing and overly cute. What instantly attracted me to this mask is the bubble aspect of it, I've seen a lot of these bubble masks on social media but have never actually tried one for myself. This mask has a unique formula that reacts to the oxygen to form tiny bubbles when it's applied to the face, this sheet mask also works to gently exfoliate the skin to create a smooth and radiant complexion.

Main Ingredients:
  • Willow Bark = Helps to soothe the skin and aid in cell regeneration for a more youthful complexion
  • Cinnamon Bark = Has antiseptic, anti-ageing and anti-inflammatory properties

First Impression
This mask is totally different from any other product that I've used before and its also a lot different from the masks on this list. I was very excited to try it so as soon as I got home from the shops I removed my makeup and tried it right away. When I first opened the packet the mask was actually black which you don't usually get with sheet masks. There was a lot of product but it wasn't dripping which was good. I also noticed straight away there was already tiny little bubbles already forming on the mask. I've seen a lot of photos of this mask online and I was expecting my face to be full of bubbles pretty quickly but mine didn't actually work out that way. I only got really small bubbles on my chin and some on my cheeks and I kind of wanted all the bubbles! When I removed the mask I still had a bit of the product in and once I massaged it in my skin felt slightly sticky but it also felt really smooth and it looked great.

This was actually the first time that I was seeing this brand before in Tk Maxx, I've seen it online a lot and always wanted to try it so I know I had to pick it up when I saw it. The first thing I noticed about this mask is the packaging, I'm definitely a sucker for cute packaging and also it has a little drawing of a dog on it and that makes everything better. This mask is described as a brightening beauty mask that gives bright and flawless skin which always sounds amazing. Because of the brightening aspect, this mask is designed for dull, tired and lacklustre skin and at the moment my skin is definitely feeling this way because of being in too much sun and it truly needs a break.

Main Ingredients:

  • Aloe Vera = Aloe vera has soothing and cooling properties, It also reduces skin irritation.
  • Cherry Blossom = Cherry blossom has anti-bacterial properties that help to soothe and illuminate the skin.

First Impression
I decided to first use this mask after we had 39° which was probably the worst day ever because I had to get a bus to and from work. I had been wearing makeup all day which melted off and as soon as I got home I wanted to just remove it and use a moisturising mask. As soon as I removed all of my makeup I decided to give this mask a try. When I first applied it to my skin I could instantly feel my skin calming down because of the cooling effect that it gave me. I find sheet masks a little be annoying when they are dripping in a product but this mask had the perfect account. I really liked that this mask had a nice fresh scent to it that isn't overpowering and you can't notice after a while. I left the mask on for about 20 minutes and when I removed it there was still a bit of product left so I massaged it in and my skin felt amazing. It soaked into my skin pretty quickly and it did feel like the drier areas of my face like my forehead felt a lot more moisturised and smooth.

Holika Holika Juicy Aloe Vera Sheet Mask

Holika Holika was another brand that I've seen from time to tome on social media so I was instantly excited to give this mask a try. Holika Holika is a Korean brand which focuses on unique and eye-catching packaging to appeal to the younger market. Soothing sheet masks are becoming really popular in the last few months I have noticed and I think it because of the summer and people are becoming very aware of sun protection which I think is great. Aloe vera is also becoming the main ingredient in a lot of skincare because of its healing and soothing properties. This is a mask that I actually took on holiday with me as I thought it would be the perfect product to use after a long day in the sun and heat.

Main Ingredients:
  • Aloe Vera = Has soothing and anti-inflammatory properties
  • Peppermint extract = Soothing and cooling abilities that help to freshen the skin.

First Impression
I decided to use this mask after the first few days that I was in Jamaica, I did sunbathe quite a lot on the first few days as we barely left the beach and my skin was feeling pretty dry and tight and in need for some TLC. After my skincare routine, I decided to use this mask for a few minutes before we got ready for dinner. My skin was still was feeling quite sensitive after my skincare because I think I might have spent too much time in the sun that day. As soon as I applied this mask my skin felt instant relief and it cooled down straight away. When I first opened this mask you can slightly get a whiff of the aloe vera but again like the other masks it isn't too overpowering and it goes away pretty soon after applying it. I left this mask on slightly longer than it said to just because it felt really nice on my skin. When I removed it I massaged in the remaining product and my skin felt a lot more nourished and it wasn't as dry as it was before. I could also feel that my forehead that I slightly burnt was feeling a lot more soothed and wasn't stinging anymore!

Tony Moly I'm Real Pomegranate Sheet Mask Elasticity

Tony Moly was actually one of the first Korean skincare brands that I actually knew about and I'm sure everyone can recognise the design of the sheet masks and their cartoons on the front. Tony Moly has the I'm Real range which consists of all different sheet masks with different uses like elasticity, moisturising and nutrition. There weren't many of the Tony Moly sheet masks in Tk Maxx but the one that I went for was the Pomegranate Elasticity mask. This mask is described to firm the skin because of its boost in collagen coming from the Pomegranate extract. Even though I don't feel like my skin needs too much firming but its always nice to have a good pick me up at the end of a long week.

Main Ingredients:
  • Pomegranate = Pomegranate is rich in Vitamin C and is also packed with antioxidants to help delay the skins ageing process.
  • Glycerin = Used to help remove oily skin. Glycerin is also non-comedogenic which means it won't clog the pores

First Impression
I decided to use this after a long day at work to give my skin a bit of a pick me up and a treat. I wasn't expecting miracles from this mask because I don't think I would get plump and firm skin from using it only once but if it made my skin feel good I'm happy. After my normal skincare routine, I then decided to use the mask. When I opened the packet the mask was drenched in the product which isn't usually my favourite but all I needed to do was just squeeze it a little to remove some of the liquid. When I applied it my skin did start to tingle a little but that went away pretty quickly and I find when that happens it makes me feel like the mask is actually working. The mask again like the others were instantly cooling and it left my skin feeling refreshed. When I removed the mask I didn't notice an amazing difference in the firmness of my skin but it did feel refreshed. I would get more of these masks to use to see if they would help plump my skin.

  3. I really like sheet masks but I haven't tried that many different brands. I'm always scared of the bubbling ones. I always think they'll feel so odd on the skin. I like the sound of the aloe vera one, I have really sensitive skin so like something calming X
