Easy Autumn Makeup Look Flatlay

Simple, Quick and easy arent the ways that I would usually describe my makeup routine because I could easily sit down for over an hour doing my makeup and be loving every minute but with the mornings being darker and the light not lasting very long during the day, easy and quick makeup is my go-to. For this post, I will be showing you my usual every day quick and easy makeup look that I go for most often during the autumn months.

Base

For my base, I like to keep it pretty simple and only use products that I know work for me and my skin. I tried to narrow down the products that I use to make it as easy as possible so I actually took out a setting powder which is unheard of from me but with my foundation pick, I don't actually need it which was a bonus. For some reason, during Autumn months I like to keep my skin looking pretty fresh and natural and not load it with too many products and clog the pores.

For my foundation for this look, I have chosen to use the MUA Pro/Base Long-Wear Finish Matte Foundation that I have been obsessing over since I purchased it a few months ago. The reason I picked this foundation is that firstly it has a matte finish which I love for my skin because it's more on the oily side and this foundation keeps my skin looking matte but not flat all day without needing to apply the added setting powder which is perfect for a speedy look. If you don't like the matte look then the other foundation I would probably use for this look is the Bourjois Healthy Mix which leaves my skin looking luminous.

To conceal my under eyes I like to use my Fast Base Concealer from Revolution which I have been using for just over a year and have been obsessed with since my original review post back in August last year. I like to use this concealer on my under eyes for a number of reasons, The first reason because I find it so easy to apply to the under eyes with the sponge applicator, you only need a small amount of this concealer as a little goes a long way and it spreads well under the eyes. The other reason I like to use this concealer is that I find that it perfectly conceals my dark circles and doest settle into my fine lines under my eyes. I like to blend this concealer with a sponge but I also find that when I use my fingers it also blends out seamlessly. To conceal the rest of my imperfections I have been recently loving the Matte Base Concealer from Revolution again, I haven't used this product that much since my review of this concealer back in February but when clearing out my makeup I found it in the back of my drawers and decided to give it another go. This concealer works like a stick foundation but is slightly drier because it's a matte formula. This concealer covers my redness, spots and scars with just one or two layers and even though it's matte it doesn't make my skin look cakey or dry.

To finish off my base I like to add blush, bronzer and obviously highlighter. Both of the products that I used for this look are from e.l.f which is a drugstore brand that I have been loving a lot recently. I have the Blush & Bronzer palette in Fiji which has both shades in matte which I really like. The bronzer in this palette is just the right shade for me if I was to get a tan which definitely won't be having this time of year this bronzer may be too light for me but for the last few months of this year this bronzer will be my go-to and it blends out amazingly. The blush in this palette is also a really pretty pink colour which I think will compliment loads of different skin tones and it gives the skin a really pretty flush of pink for the cheeks. For my highlighter, I have been loving using the e.l.f Baked Highlighter in Moonlight Pearls. This highlighter is such a gorgeous light champagne colour which isn't too overpowering and gives the skin a really gorgeous natural glow. I like to use this highlighter also as an under the brow bone highlighter to complete any eyeshadow look.

Eyes & Lips

For my eyes, I decided to go for a pretty simple eyeshadow look using the Revolution Re-Loaded Newtrals 3 palette which I mentioned recently in my Top 3 Affordable Palettes For Autumn post. This is one of my all-time favourite palettes to use this time of year because all of the shades just instantly remind me of Autumn.

For my eyeshadow look, I wanted it to be quite simple but not look too simple if you know what I mean! These are the steps to recreate my eyeshadow look (To make explaining how to do this look easier I have numbered the colours on the palette that I used!):

Easy Autumn Makeup Look - My Makeup Look

  1. To start off the eye look I picked the 2nd colour along (labelled 1) in the palette which is a deep corally brown shade and used a really light hand and a fluffy crease brush to blend it onto my crease. This took a bit of time to make sure the colour was fully buffed out to look extra blended.
  2. When the crease was finally how I like it I then applied the deeper red matte shade (2) onto the crease just a little bit lower than where I applied the shade above. I then just kept blending back and forth until it looked just right.
  3. Once the crease was finally finished I then applied the extra glittery gold shade (3) and used my finger at first to apply it all over my lid but I did leave a little bit free on the outer corner of my eye.
  4. After applying the gold shade I then went in with the shade number 2 (the deep red matte shade) and blended it out onto my outer corner to connect the whole look together.
  5. The finishing step for the shadow look was to reapply the glittery gold shade to give it extra pigmentation!

To finish off my eyeshadow look I decided to add a winged liner (who doesn't love a cat-eye!) For this I used the Revolution Rennaisance Liquid Liner which I actually added in my 5 Under £5: Liquid Eyeliner post just because of how good it is! This liner is so easy to use and stays in place all day with no smudging or wearing away. For my mascara (which I realised just before posting that I didn't add in the picture!) is the Diorshow Pump'N'Volume mascara I have been using this mascara a lot recently and even mentioned it in September Makeup Favourites. I love this product because it adds length, thickness and volume to my lashes without the need for falsies.

For my lipstick in the photo, I am actually wearing MAC Bric-O-Lar which is a really pretty mid-toned berry shade which reminds me of Autumn every time I wear it. I wanted to add another lipstick to this post just in case the MAC shade is a little too vibrant, I have picked the P.s... Beauty Lustre Lipstick which I picked up one day from Primark and is the perfect nudey brown shade which is just right for a lovely natural look.

The colours that are associated with Autumn have always been my favourite and my makeup seems to reflect that especially with the palettes I use. Is there any makeup products you use a lot during Autumn?

  7. You look absolutely stunning Aaliyah! The look is so warm and neat😍 Thank you for the thorough instructions to applying the eyeshadow. I don't know how to apply it with more than one color. I really like the liquid eyeliner you used to, it's bold, which is something I like👏🏾
