I’m not a person that goes out too often but when I do I like to be 100% prepared. I love going out with the girls and letting off some steam but I always make sure my bag is packed with all of my night out essentials. In today’s post, I’ll be sharing with you all of the bits I need when I go out!

Lip Choices

I know this must sound weird but hear me out. I like to take with me a few different lip options so I can chop and change throughout the evening. I like to usually pack a lipstick, lip gloss and a liquid lip so that I have covered everything. It depends on what the night holds but if I’m out to dinner first I usually wear my lipstick or liquid lip because I know they stay on and are comfortable to wear and then If I’m off to a bar or club lipgloss is always the way to go. The products I’ve been loving taking out with me at the moment are Rimmel the only one lipstick in naughty nude because the shade literally goes with everything and always makes my makeup look good, Gerard Cosmetics liquid lip in Cher because it is the perfect mauvey pink shade that’s super long-lasting and my Laura Geller Lip Gloss in Blushing which has recently become one of my all-time faves.

Powder

Translucent powder is an absolute must-have on a night out. My skin gets pretty oily throughout the day so I always make sure that I have a powder compact in my bag to top up throughout the evening. I always have to make sure as well that when I’m packing my night out bag that I remember to also add a fluffy brush because I forgot it once and instantly regretted it. The powder I like to take out with me is my Rimmel Stay Matte Translucent powder I have been using this powder for years and it is a holy grail product that never fails to deliver. I only need a really small amount of the powder dusted over my face and then I instantly look matte again. I always take this powder out with me because it doesn't matter how many times I apply this powder it never makes my skin look cakey but it still lets the glow of my foundation and highlighter shine through.

Mirror

I cannot tell you how essential it is to bring a mirror with you on a night out. There have been so many times that I've forgotten it and I've had to queue for the toilets just to use the mirror so now I always make sure that if the powder im taking with me doesn't have a mirror included that I always take a small compact one with me so that Im always prepared.

Setting Spray

I try not to leave the house without making sure that I have packed my setting spray and that is especially if I’m off out for the evening. Once I’ve finished off my makeup I like to use my setting spray to keep everything in place but I actually like to put it in my bag and use it once I’m out too. After I’ve applied my powder I then like to spritz my face with a bit of setting spray to make sure that my makeup won’t budge. My favourite setting spray for this is Mac Prep + Prime setting spray which you can actually use as a base primer before adding any product to make your makeup last all night. Whenever I use this product I know I’m in for a good makeup evening and that my makeup is going to look flawless even If I’m in a boiling hot club or packed out restaurant. I’ve also been guilty of spraying my face with this setting spray a few times just to cool myself down!

Perfume Samples

Perfume is always a big must whenever I go out, I always make sure that I spritz myself before leaving the house. I don’t like taking my perfume bottles out with be because firstly they are way too big and also I know I would lose it or break it and that would not be ideal. So to combat this problem I take out perfume samples with me. Over the years I have curated a big collection of perfume samples so if I misplace one I’m not too sad about it. The mini perfume samples are perfect to throw in your bag because they are tiny so they will most likely fit and they have the perfect amount of perfume in them to top up a few times during the evening. The perfume samples I’ve been taking out with me recently has been Dior Joy, I love this perfume because it is a super sweet but still strong scent which is super long-lasting!

Hair Bands and clips

These items are definitely an essential for me whenever I go for a night out. I always like to have my hair out either straight or Curley when I go out and for the first hour I like it to look perfect for the photos but after that, I lose interest. I always need to hair bands and clips on me because after a while my hair starts to annoy me and I like to put it up or clip it back so it’s out of my face. My hair is pretty long and naturally curly so hot and humid clubs aren’t the perfect match at keeping my hair looking glossy and sleek. If I can fit a hairbrush in my bag then I will but I always try to add spare hairbands because they always come in handy! Whenever I can’t find a hairband at home that I want to use I always look in my night out bag and 99% of the time there is one stashed in the bottom.

  2. My essentials are definitely powder and lipstick/gloss! My lip products always come off so quickly no matter what, especially on a night out when I'm talking and drinking! I definitely need to start taking out a mirror too, as my phone front camera is never enough haha x

    1. I’ve tried using the phone camera before and that was a disaster! Try a matte liquid lip, that may last you a little longer x

  3. One thing I need to buy is a small mirror for my bag, otherwise I have to use my selfie camera in place of a mirror instead! x

  4. I always take a powder compact that has a mirror! I usually don't switch up my lip, so I take whatever I've chosen with a matching liner (the liner is essential for me) and I normally take a concealer too but I don't bother with it 99% of the time, but I like to know it's there. I never normally take anything for my hair but you've really got me thinking that I need to chuck a couple of hairbands in my most used bags just in case x

    1. That’s actually a good idea to take my lip liner, I’ve never thought about that before and also a concealer would be great to top up every now and again! X

  5. I don't really do nights out (at least not ones where I care enough about how I look!) but I used to love that Rimmel powder! Gosh, I got through so many of those! x

  6. Great idea on taking the mini perfume samples,I never thought of that ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ I need to check out the Rimmel powder. For me, on nights out my hair is typically in an afro so I like to take a hair pik to keep it fluffy because the moisture in the air makes it shrink๐Ÿ˜‚

  8. Love this post, Aaliyah. I always take a couple of different lip products too, and a setting powder. In fact, my make up bag is the thing I always pack first when I'm going out - a girl can never have too many lippies, haha. Great post! x
