{ AD - Previously Gifted} It has been a whole year since I did my last 'What's In My Bag' post so I thought now would be the perfect time to do another one. This one is going to be slightly different because it's going to be a Pandemic Edition, as everyone knows we're still in the middle of this mess so I thought I'd make light of the situation and share with you what I have on me 24/7 during this pandemic!

Hand Sanitiser

I was actually one of those people who used to carry around hand sanitiser constantly even before COVID happened but now I even double up! I make sure that I have a hand sanitiser on me at all times, I travel a lot on public transport so I am constantly using it. At the moment I have two different sanitisers one is from the brand Cuticura that I got from boots, this one isn't my favourite as it has a slight scent which is supposed to be floral & fruity and it can be slightly overpowering but it soaks into the hands really quickly and doesn't leave them feeling sticky and the smell goes away quickly. The other hand gel I have is from Enliven that I got from Amazon, this hand gel is probably one of my favourites because it has a lovely fresh scent of cucumber and mint, it doesn't smell too much of alcohol and it soaks in instantly into the skin and leaves the hands feeling smooth. I carry these in my bag all the time and use them a lot now like when I get off the bus, if I'm handling money or if I touch anything really.

Hand Cream

Having a hand cream in my bag is so important especially during this pandemic, I am washing my hands and using so much hand sanitiser that my hands have definitely started to suffer. My hands have become a lot drier than usual and feeling rough from all the stripping ingredients that hand sanitisers have. This hand cream is truly a godsend, I got this for myself as a treat and even though it's pricey it's definitely worth it. I have been using the L'Occutain Almond hand cream that is the perfect product for keeping my hands feeling moisturised, hydrated and smooth without it being greasy. I use this all the time and have done for a few months now and haven't really made a dent in the product because a little really goes a long way. One thing that I really love about this hand cream is the scent, it has such a lovely light almond scent which I can't get enough of. This cream has helped my hands stay really soft even though I'm washing them constantly, I would 100% recommend trying out this hand cream if you're also suffering from really dry hands!

Face Mask

This one is definitely a no brainer, now in the UK you cant go anywhere if you don't have a mask and rightly so. I have been wearing mine for months while I'm travelling and at work so I always make sure I have them in my bag, there's nothing worse than walking to the bus stop or the shop and realising you've forgotten your mask!. At my job, we are given disposable masks which is what I have been using but I am on the lookout for a good reusable one which I can just chuck in the wash after using it. I wear glasses so I need my masks to have a nose wire otherwise every time I breathe my masks steam up and I cant see, another thing I've found with wearing a mask is that my glasses constantly fall down so if any of you have tried some great reusable face masks then definitely let me know.

Lip Balm

Now that I am constantly wearing a mask I couldn't tell you the last time I wore lipstick. I did it once and it went everywhere so now I stick to lip balms. Having a mask on all day hasn't been great for my skin or lips but wearing a lip balm has really helped to keep my lips feeling smooth and hydrated. I have been using two different lip balms depending on what im doing, the first balm is from Malibu and its the Vanilla scent with SPF30 I use this balm when I know I'm not doing to be taking off my mask at all and I don't need to have a full face of makeup on, this balm smells amazing but also protects my lips and keeps them feeling nourished. The other lip balm I use is from Kndr Mood Balm which is a tinted lip balm that I got from Birchbox, I use this balm when I'm going to be taking off my mask for a bit like if I'm going out to eat. This balm leaves a lovely pink tint to the lips but also leaves them feeling soft. If you cannot for this balm I also love Burts Bee's Tinted Lip Balm, that gives the lips a lovely flush of colour but also keeps them feeling hydrated.

Face Powder

Wearing a face mask all day really doesn't help with keeping my makeup on, from the eyes down my makeup truly looks terrible so making sure I have a powder with me at all times is crucial. The face powder that I have been using lately is the LA Girl Pro Face Pressed powder, I like to use this over foundation if I'm wearing it to keep my skin looking matte but to also keep my makeup in place, yes this does still transfer on my mask but my skin does look a whole lot better when I do use it. The other way I like to use this is like a powder foundation, I'm trying to wear less face makeup because I'm breaking out a lot so all I really wear is some concealer and this powder. It has pretty good coverage, leaves my skin looking matte and doesn't clog my pores which is definitely a win-win for me. I keep this powder in my bag to do touch-ups throughout the day!

Body Mist*

This one isn't really pandemic related but its something that I always have in my bag. Back in March I was very kindly gifted the new fragrance mists from Soap & Glory. The one that I keep in my bag is the Original Pink scent which has that signature Soap & Glory smell to it. that I think everyone knows. The scent of this spray is very light and fresh which makes it perfect to use even at work because it isn't too overpowering or strong. I like to use this throughout the day to leave a nice light scent and even with a few sprays the scent can last for a few hours. If you love the Original Pink scent for Soap & Glory then you need to try this spritz!

Pin For Later...

This pandemic has been scary for everyone but having these items with me all the time makes me feel just a little bit better. What other things do you have in your bag?

  1. I'm one of those people who doesn't carry a bag around - but if I'm going to bring one thing with me it'll be lip balm (and a mask of course!) along with my phone that I store my debit card in. I could not live without lip balm, especially heading into winter! x

  4. We have been using masks that were made locally by a seamstress. Knowing that my husband has glasses, she was able to structure them in a way that avoided the fogging up problem. That being said, maybe you should reach out to some local small businesses to see if one of them is able to construct the same for you?

  5. I'm one of those people that carries their entire life in my bag. The standard purse, cardholder, keys phone... then a pouch with medical supplies, hand cream, sanitiser, a couple of skincare minis, my passport usually hangs out in there too, notebook, pen, usually a plastic fork as well... Everything 😂 x

  7. Hand cream is definitely a necessity right now! I'm washing and sanitising all the time so my hands are getting dry so quickly, plus the cold weather doesn't help! L'Occitane hand cream is the best :)
