start of the year favourites

While going through my blog again I didn't realise how long it's been since I did a whole favourites post. I don't do monthly favourites because I'm a creature of habit and like to use products that I know what for me but when I do find new favourites you will know! This post I have put together all of my favourites that I've collected from the first few months of this year!

Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer

This actually isn't a new product to my collection, I've had it for a while and used it when I first got it but it gradually got pushed to the back of the drawer and I kind of forgot about it but last month I gradually started using it again and fell in love with it. I mainly use this concealer for dark cirlces and to brighten them up and make me look more alive. It is called Radiance reveal and it has definitely done that, as soon as I apply it, it instantly gives my under eyes a brightened and more radiant look. The formula of this concealer is really lovely, its more on the liquidy side which is very different from my other concealer like my Conceal & Define which is a lot thicker in consistency. With the product being a lot thinner I find it a lot easier to blend and it also blends into the skin in super quickly and gives a really smooth and flawless look. I wouldn't use this concealer on the imperfections on my face because I like a heavy duty coverage but for under the eyes, making it the perfect concealer for dark circles!

This is another rediscovery of mine as I've had it in my collection for a while now but never really properly gave it a good go, but then one day I just decided to use it again and now it's in my permanent collection. I use this powder to make my under eyes extra smooth when I'm wearing a full face of makeup. If I don't bake my under eyes I will no matter what get creases and the concealer wears away. This setting powder is in a yellow shade so it gives the under eyes a nice lift as the yellow cancels out the dark circles. What I also really like about this powder is that it is so finely milled that it lays on the skim so nicely and keeps me crease free all day.

ELF Blush & Bronzer Palette - Fiji

Another makeup item on my favourites list this time around and this product definitely earned its place on this list. I went into Superdrug recently and got this blush and bronzer duo palette on one of their deadly 3 for 2 makeup deals and I've been using this product ever since. The blush in this palette was definitely made for me, the colour is just such a gorgeous pink shade that gives the cheeks a really pretty flush of colour. The blush is also really buildable that you can wear a small amount or build it up to a pretty bold colour. The bronzer from this palette is my favourite and I have literally been using it every day. The shade is the perfect colour for a really pretty natural bronzed look, the shade works really well for my skin tone at the moment but I think when I go on holiday and get a bit more colour to me it will be slightly too light. The formula of both products is really lovely with great pigmentation and this product is a major dupe for the Nars blush and bronzer Duo palette at £31 instead of the £5 like this palette.

Evoluderm Lotion Tonique

This is more of a recent discovery for me that I actually found on one of my Tk Maxx visits. I have never heard of the brand before and most of the label was in French but it did say that the toner soothes, tones and moisturises the skin with the added ingredient of Rose Water which is perfect for sensitive skin. I have been using this toner for a few weeks now and have seen a difference in my skin with redness in my skin especially around my nose as this toner has amazing sooting and healing properties. This toner is also alcohol-free meaning it doesn't dry out the skin and I've found that I don't find that my skin feels really tight after toner which I really don't like with other toners. After I've used this product my skin feels refreshed and squeaky clean.

GlamGlow Tropicalcleanse Daily Exfoliating Cleanser

This was another more recent discovery of mine since I got in my March Birchbox. I have still been using the sample size from the box which I think has lasted really well. This cleanser is totally different from anything that I've tried before as it is also an exfoliator and cleanser making it a perfect two in one product. The cleanser itself is really lovely for removing any traces of makeup and pollution and leaves my skin feeling super soft. This is a product that I don't use daily because I wanted to see how long the tube lasted but I like to use it around once or twice a week and when I do I can see a noticeable difference to my skin. I also like to use this on days when I'm feeling a little lazy and don't want to do my whole cleanse and exfoliation routine. Even though this product is from GlamGlow it isn't overly expensive compared to their other products.

  1. I am in love with GlamGlow but I haven't actually ever tried this cleanser! Sounds great though so I think I might have to give it a go. Also I'm just in the process of looking for a new concealer so it's good to read about what other people use! So thanks for sharing.
