My Morning Skincare Routine

I have definitely done quite a few skincare posts in the past on my routine like My Skincare Routine which was one of my first ever posts and then a few months later I did my Updated Skincare Routine. This time I thought I would split my posts in half and dedicate a post to each my Morning and Nighttime routine to fully go in-depth with all my products and practices.

So before we start this post I have to admit that I actually have two different morning skincare routines, one is when I'm being very strict with my skincare and I'm very thorough and then there's my lazy girl routine which I try not to do so often but I thought it share both with you today.

Routine One

Products I use:
Pre Cleanse - Environ Pre-Cleansing Oil
Cleanser - Soap & Glory The Fab Pore Cleanser (previously gifted)
Toner - Pixi Glow Tonic
Moisturiser - Environ Super Moisturiser
SPF - Environ Rad SPF 15
Gadget - PMD Clean (Previously gifted)

For my thorough routine, I like to do most of the steps that I would normally do in my evening routine but cut out things like a face mask because I don't really have the time in the morning as 99% of the time I'm in a rush. I mainly like to do this routine when I have slightly more time or if I get up a little earlier to give my skin a treat.

The first step in my routine is the cleansing, I tend to usually do a double cleanse as sometimes when I wake up in the morning my skin is extra oily. The first cleanser I use is the Environ Pre Cleansing oil, I never used to be a big fan of oils because I have oily skin but I have found that this product helps to remove all dirt and oils so easily and effectively. When I have washed this product off my skin instantly feels better and more refreshed. After the first cleanse I move on to the second cleanse, with this I use the Soap & Glory The Fab Pore Cleanser (previously gifted), you can read my full review of this cleanser here, I like to use this cleanser because I find that it helps keep my oily skin at bay. With this cleanser, I also like to use my PMD Clean (previously gifted, full review here) Whenever I use these two products together my skin just feels amazing, it also helps me feel as that I'm getting right into my skin and cleaning it effectively. I tend to only do this for a few minutes as I don't have any makeup on.

After my cleansing routine, I move onto toning my skin. For the last few months, I have been using the Pixi Glow Tonic and for me, it truly lives up to the hype. The reason I have been using this toner for a while is that it has exfoliating qualities to it. Over the years my nose has always been my problem area with it being overly oily and I also have quite a few blackheads,  while I've been using this toner I have noticed a quite noticeable difference in the oiliness and the largeness of my pores. I usually just swipe this over my face and I can instantly see and feel a difference. Another thing I love about this toner is that it doesn't leave my skin with a tight feeling it actually leaves my skin feeling really smooth.

For my main moisturiser, I have been using the Environ Super Moisturiser. I first found out about this product from the salon that I work at, It is mainly targetted to people with quite dry skin but I decided to give it a go and I've now been using it for a few months and loving it. This cream is quite thick but it which I really love because it leaves the skin feeling extra soft and it is really easily absorbed. I like to use this moisturiser a lot in the summer because I feel like the weather just draws out all the moisture in my skin but with this cream, it gives my skin a luxurious silky feel to it. This cream also helps to fight the effects of free-radicals leaving the skin feeling nourished and refreshed.

The last product that I like to use every day is my SPF because my moisturiser doesn't have it included in my moisturiser so I need a separate product to make sure my skin is fully protected. This SPF is another product from the Environ range, The Environ RAD SPF 15, I have mentioned this product along with a few other SPFs that I like to use in my 4 Best Sunscreens To Protect Your Skin. I mainly like to use this cream because it doesn't leave that horrible white cast on my skin and it also sinks into my skin so quickly and doesn't leave it feeling sticky or tacky. I also love to use this cream because it can also be used as a body suncream so I tend to bring the cream down my neck and on my decolletage area to fully protect it from the sun and ageing.

Routine Two

My Morning Skincare Routine 2

Products I use:
Cleanser - Garnier Pure Active Micellar Water
Toner - Pixi Glow Tonic
Moisturiser - Environ Super Moisturiser

As you can see from the limited amounts of products I use this would be my lazy routine. I only really do this routine once or twice a week when I have to get up super early and I can't bring myself to do the full routine.

The first product I use is my Garnier Micellar Water, I love to use micellar water because I find its such a quick and easy way to deeply clean my skin. Whenever I wake up in the morning my skin for some reason is always extra oily and it needs to to be refreshed and when I use this product it instantly feels and looks so much better. If I'm ever travelling or going on holiday my micellar water is the first product that I use to cleanse my skin all for the convenience of it.

The other products that I use in my lazy routine are the same as I would use in my normal routine. I tend to keep using the same products for a while as I can see a good difference in the appearance and feel of my skin. Even though I' in my lazy mode when I do this routine I always make sure to apply my spf at the end! I do sometimes find it hard to stick to a particular product because I always like to try out new things.

  1. Ooh I've been looking for a new facial SPF so I will definitely have to check this one out, it looks great! I also like the look of the moisturiser, I have quite dry skin so it sounds like it would work for me. I also love the Pixi Glow Tonic, I used to hate toner for some reason but after using that it's pretty much my favourite skincare step haha!

    1. Facial spf is so important and I must admit that I do forget to do this step sometimes! I bet the moisturiser would work wonders for your skin as it’s so nourishing and hydrating! The pixi glow tonic will always be a favourite out mine! X

  2. I will always repurchase the Pixi Glow Tonic, it's such a great product and works super fast! In the morning, I like to exfoliate with Dermalogica or Fresh products :) I really wanna check out your SPF choice, I'm still on the hunt for finding the perfect one that doesn't leave a white cast on my skin lol!

    1. The pixi glow tonic is such a huge staple in my skincare routine, I’ve been using it for a few months now and have been loving it! I usually exfoliate my skin in the evenings as I never have enough time to in the morning m. I’m sure you will love the spf as much as I do! X

  3. My skin is really weird - it's sensitive to literally everything on a morning (even stuff that's fine at night?) so my morning routine is more like your lazy day one, stripped back to keep my face happy. It's usually a splash of water, maybe some Ren Ready Steady Glow and my SPF and that's about it. Maybe an added hyaluronic acid serum in the colder months x

  5. I once tried Pixi Cream Cleanser and Pixi Glow Tonic but I had an allergy reaction on my face straight after. I was sad since I've heard a lot of good reviews on Pixi products. Oh, well. But the Environ and that PMD Cleanse sounds great! Thank you for sharing. :) x Ain (www.captaineverland.co.uk)

  6. The only thing I do in my morning skincare routine is moisturise! I exfoliate three times a week and I apply primer before applying makeup, but that's about it! It was lovely to read about your skincare routine Aaliyah! xx

I need to check this out - I am about to run out of mine! It is so important to use products with SPF. I love your collection of brushes by the way!
