This is officially my first 5 Under £5 post of the year and I thought I would kick things with Lip Liners. Before I really started to get into makeup I never really wore lip liner, I didn't think it was worth it or if they really worked but the more I wore lipstick I realised it is a product that everyone should have in their collection. In today's post, I'll be sharing with you all of my favourite lip liners that are all more than £5.

L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Lip Liner Couture - £4.99

This was actually one of the first brands of liners that I tried and this is the one that made me fall in love with drugstore liners. Apart from the gorgeous shade that this liner comes in the other reason that I really liked this product is it glides on the lips really easily without pulling or tugging at the lips. I have had this liner for a few years now and whenever  I use it again I always sharpen the end and then it's like the liner is brand new. This is one of the more pricier lip liners on my list but its definitely worth spending a few extra pounds on it. This liner comes in 6 different shades ranging from nudes to pinks and reds so everyone should find a shade perfect for them. The shade I have in this liner is Berry Blush that is a mauve pink shade which I have found the perfect shade to have in my collection as it works really well with my lipstick shades. A different way I like to wear this lip liner is to apply it all over the lips and then just apply a clear gloss on top to keep the colour in place and to add a touch of gloss.

Kiko Milano Smart Fusion Lip Pencil - £2.50

Kiko has been a brand that I have loved for years and have been using their products on and off for years. When they're used to be a Kiko shop near me I would go there quite often and pick up a few bits to add to my collection and I was going through a lip liner phase so I thought I would pick up a few of their Smart Fusion lip liners. This lip liner has a great range of colours with a whole 36 shades making it perfect to add to anyone's collection. This lip liner is actually slightly creamier than the L'Oreal one which I think makes it a lot more comfortable to wear under other lip products. I like using this liner a lot because I know that when im wearing this I won't have any problems with my lipstick like any bleeding in the lines of my lips or creasing of my lips. This is one of the liners in my collection that I don't mind purchasing a lot of the other shades because it's only £2.50 a pop!

Revolution Renaissance Lip Liner - £3.00

This liner was brought when I probably didn't need any more liners but I saw it and instantly had to have it and for only £3 you can't go wrong. Before I started finding really good quality lip liners at the drugstore and high street I would only really find ones that were dry and difficult to use but then I found this liner from Revolution and it changed my opinion on inexpensive liners. This liner works really well on the lips as it glides on really easily and has a super creamy formula where it almost feels like your wearing a lipstick. I have this lip liner in a few shades and they all seem to work really well with my lipsticks. This is another lip liner that I would also wear on its own with maybe a little bit of a gloss on top to keep the colour looking vibrant all day. This is also a perfect product if you need to top up with liner throughout the day as it layers really well.

Barry M Lip Liner - £2.99

Barry M was one of the first brands I ever tried from the high street, I remember trying to collect their glitter pots when I was around 14. When I started to discover new different brands I kind of forgotten about Barry M until I started using their lip liners and I was converted back to a Barry M fan. This is another really affordable lip liner with it only being £2.99 but that doesn't mean that they scrimp on quality. Like the others in this list, the lip liner is very easy to apply and it doesn't dry out very quickly even though I have had it in my collection for a while and when it does all you have to do is sharpen the end and then it's just like new. Looking on the Barry M website I saw that they now have 13 different shades ranging from coral to nude and berry shades and they are all vegan making them perfect for everyone to try.

Essence Soft Contouring Lip Liner - £1.00

This is actually the cheapest liner on this list with it only being £1 but again if you didn't know it was that affordable I think you would have guessed it to be more expensive. Essence isn't a brand that I've used a lot of but I have tried quite a few of their liners because of how good the quality was. This liner gives you a velvety matte finish which I have found to go on the lips really easily, It may not be as creamy as some of the other liners from this list but for only £1 I think it works really well. This is another lip liner that I have in quite a few different shades, I did discover that the dark shades are a little easier to apply than the nudes but overall this lip liner is great and I would recommend everyone to try it.

Pin For Later...

Knowing now that there are so many quality lip liners in the drugstore and high street I don't think I'll ever spend more than £5 on a lip liner! Have you tried any of these liers before?

  1. I've heard so many good things about the Essence liners, but I wasn't that much for it. I think it's because it's not creamy enough like you say. The L'Oreal one sounds perfect though! Great post xx

  2. Stopping using a product and getting back to it after a while means the product is perfect and that's what happened to my sister as well. Great review!

  4. Oooh thanks for sharing these lip liners! To be honest I don't really wear lip liners unless I'm wearing super dark makeup, but I am considering it if it neatens up my lips a bit...

  7. Your photos are SO beautiful. I haven't ever really worn a lot of lipliners, although I do like the Rimmel Exaggerate one in Eastend Snob. I have to check out the Barry M ones now though, 13 shades is great and I had no idea they were vegan! Also you can't really argue with £1 for the Essence ones can you? Colour-wise, I looove the L'Oreal one! So good that all of these are so affordable!

  10. I've been looking for a new lipliner and I hate spending too much money on lip products as I'm prone to coldsores and have to bin them a lot. That kiko one however looks so good and is so reasonable!x
