{Gifted} I think now I have officially become the designated wax melt reviewer and to be honest, I love it. Like I said in my previous wax melt review, that other than beauty products wax melts and candles are my other obsession. For this review, I was kindly gifted some wax melts from The Little Big Wax Co to try out their products and I was lucky enough to be gifted 5 different scents! In today's post, I'll be sharing with you my thoughts on the wax melts from The Little Big Wax Co.

First Impression

Since getting my previous set of wax melts I have been burning them most evenings to make my whole house smell amazing. When I got the email that The Little Big Wax Co wanted to gift me some products I was very excited to try out a different brand but to also try out some new scents. I picked out a few of the scents but them I was also gifted a few extra treats for me to try out. The Little Big Wax Co has an amazing range of different scents and styles of their wax melts ranging from Cherry Lemonade and Rhubarb Gin (Making my thirsty thinking about it). The scents I picked where Cherry Lemonade which has a strong cherry fragrance with a hint of lemon and orange, Romance in Paradise which is a super sweet fruity scent and Total Blisswhich has an oriental fragrance with peach and apricot and then I was also given G.Host which is a light and fresh scent and Rhubarb Gin which is very rhubarby which I love.

Product Amount

I got gifted two different sizes of the wax melts with the two larger wax bars having 60g of wax and the three smaller wax bars having half the amount at 30g. When I was researching the weights of these wax bars the website also had information on how long the wax will last. if you were to use two chunks of the 60g bar you will get 12-16 hours of scent and each whole bar in total should last 45 hours! and these bars are only £2.50 each. With the 30g bars, you can snap them in half and get around 8-10 hours of the scent! and these bars are only £1.50 each.

Packaging

The outside packaging of these wax melt bars is really cute with them being wrapped in clear plastic with white polka dots and the brand's logo with the names of each wax melt on them. On the back of each of the wax bars, they have some information on like the name of the melt, the ingredients and a warning to keep them away from children.

Each of the wax bars that I was gifted all had different designs and colours to them. The Cherry Lemonade bar is a cream colour with what looked like pink and yellow splatters, Rhubarb Gin being a gradient of light pink to dark pink with geographic print on the top, Total Bliss is a really pretty pink shade with a geographic print on top, G.Host is a light blue with glitter with a brick print on top and my favourite is Romance In Paradise which is a cream bar with pink hearts and loads of glitter.

First Impression

My first impression of these wax melts is that they all smelt amazing and I could instantly smell them even though the box and packaging. When Im looking for wax melts the first thing I do is obviously smell them to make sure if they have a strong enough scent so that I could smell them through the packaging and with these melts I definitely could. To be able to test out each of the scents individually I decided to try out a different scent every day so I could see which ones work the best.

The first scent that I tested out was Cherry Lemonade, The first thing I noticed when I smelt this wax bar was that it instantly reminded me of Dr Pepper which I love so that was a big plus. When the wax was melted you could instantly tell that the wax melt had wafted around the room with everything smelling of cherry. If fruity scents aren't your thing then this might not be the wax melt for you but I loved it. This would be a scent that I would have on during the day in my living room or bedroom. The only thing I didn't notice with this is much of the lemon scent but that isn't a deal-breaker.

Romance in Paradise was the next scent that I tried when I smell this wax melt it instantly reminds me of tropical juice which is my favourite. This wax melt gives off a range of scents but it is mostly pretty sweet and fruity which is one of my favourite scents. The scent of this wax comes off really well and I could tell because when I left the room and came back you could still really smell it. I also noticed with this wax melt was that it lasted for hours and even after my tea light went out I could still smell the tropical scent.

The next wax melt I tried was G.Host, the first thing I noticed about this melt other than the really nice fresh scent it has was how pretty the wax actually looked when it had melted. The wax looked like it was more of silk instead of wax which was gorgeous. I couldn't quite put my finger on what this wax bar smelt like but it was actually one of my favourites because it wasn't too overpowering and had a more fresh and clean scent other than sweet and fruity.

Total bliss was another one of my favourites out of the range of wax bars I got. This wax bar had a very nice oriental fragrance to it with notes of peach, apricot, berries and peony. What I liked about this wax bar was that it has a nice mix of fruity and floral scents and again it wasn't too overpowering. This is the type of scent that I would like to just have on all day because it's actually pretty relaxing and calming. I had this wax melt burning for most of the day and could tell that this scent, in particular, is super long-lasting.

The last scent that I tested out was Rhubarb Gin, this was actually one of the ones I was most excited to try out because of how strong the scent was. As soon as I opened the package I could smell the rhubarb scent straight away and that's even before it was melted. Once I melted this wax bar the smell intensified more but not in an overpowering way which I liked. Im not sure why but for this wax melt the scent lasted longer than the others and you could smell it for hours which was perfect.

Do Forget to check out The Little Big Wax Co website to see all of their other scents and products!

  1. I loved the sound of Cherry Lemonade, but I aren't a Dr Pepper fan, so I may have to leave that one. Romance in Paradise sounds like it smells amazing, but then again so do the others. Great review xx

  3. I think I said in your last wax review that I'm yet to really get into wax melts, I'm more of a diffuser girl, I find them less hassle. But you don't seem to get the range of fragrances with diffusers that you do with melts so I think I might have to look into them more closely - G.Host sounds like something I'd love. Thank you for such a detailed review! x

    1. When I first got wax melts I thought they would be a pain to clean up but they are actually really easy, once the wax’s smell has gone I add a cotton pad or tissue to soak up the remaining wax and that’s it! X
