Since the Lockdown has started I have probably worn makeup twice and I thought that it would do my skin wonders but I think it's actually done the opposite, it has become dry and problematic. Since I've had a lot of time on my hands I have found 4 different face masks for dry skin that have been working wonders for me. In today's post, I'll be sharing with you my favourite face masks to rescue dry skin!

Dr Botanicals Pomegranate Superfood Regenerating Sleeping Mask

Overnight masks have fastly become one of my favourite type of masks because there is no fuss and all you need to do is apply it and sleep which is perfect. This overnight mask is from Dr Botanicals which is a brand that I discovered from Birchbox. This mask is a hydrating overnight treatment which is also vegan and cruelty-free! I have used this mask on and off for ages and I am now starting to use it at least 2-3 times a week as my skin has been so dry and in need of a good pick me up. I use this mask after I have done all of my skincare routines and just before I'm ready to go to bed, I apply this mask like I would with moisturiser and let it soak into the skin. I really like this mask because it is super thick and creamy and smells amazing and when it's on my skin I can feel it making my skin feel amazing. When I wake up the next morning my skin really does feel brand new and super soft and the areas of my skin that are extra dry like around my skin and around my eyebrows (weird I know) feel so much better and smoother.

Key Ingredients:
  • Pomegranate = Rich source of Vitamin C which is effective at treating dull, tired and dry skin
  • Sweet Almond Oil = Helps to target signs of ageing and safeguard against sun damage
  • Shea Butter = Contains a high concentration of fatty acids and vitamins making shea butter perfect at softening the skin

Back in the day when I started my blog, I wrote a post all about my favourite 7th Heaven masks and still to this day it's my most viewed post and since then I have been obsessed with 7th Heaven products. I have built up such a collection of 7th Heaven masks that it was hard choosing one but this one is definitely my favourite for moisturising the skin. I like to use this mask when I'm having one of my pamper evenings because even though it's very inexpensive I think this mask is very luxurious. This mask is a cream mask which means that it doesn't set dry which I like because it's really easy to remove and it literally only takes seconds. I like to use this mask when my skin is dry but also when it's feeling a bit tight and sensitive because whenever I have this mask on it cools down my skin and also gives a soothing effect to my skin. Whenever I go through a dry skin flare up I always find that it can get quite irritated too so this is a mask that really helps that.

Key Ingredients:

  • Strawberry = Rich in vitamin C which is a very effective antioxidant which helps to protect and brighten the skin
  • Aloe Vera = Has a high water content (99.5%) meaning it is very hydrating, soothing and cooling for the skin
  • Vanilla = Has anti-inflammatory properties which help to soothe and calm irritated skin

This is probably the second GlamGlow mask that I've tried and have really loved, they just know how to make a really good face mask. This mask is a sample but I have actually been able to get a good few uses out of it and I will use every last scrap of product in the mask because it is pretty pricey but I think its worth it. This mask is described to give you deep instant hydration and also restoring and calming the skin. This mask is a multi-use mask which is another thing I really like about it because you can use it as a 15-minute mask for the perfect glow fix or you can use it as an overnight mask for intense hydration. I like to use this mask both ways depending on when Im using it and what condition my skin is in. This is the mask I use when my skin is really struggling with dryness and flaking which I get a lot after I tan which isn't fun. When you have this mask on it slightly tingles but not too much and after a while, you don't really notice it. When I'm wearing the mask for only 15minutes I like to apply it quite thickly so that I can let as much of the mask soak into the skin leaving it feeling extra smooth and hydrated.

Key Ingredients:
  • Hyaluronic Acid = Helps to retain moisture into the skin because it holds 1000x its own weight in water
  • Ginger Root = Works to boost radiance and condition the skin
  • Hydraclay = Helps to retain natural moisture into the skin

Whenever I want to have a quick fix facial and just want to relax then I go for a sheet mask straight away. This mask is from a brand that I discovered from Birchbox and have actually repurchased it a few times because I enjoyed using it so much. I like to use this mask because it always makes my skin feel extra smooth and it's really soothing and cooling once the mask is on the skin. Along with the hydrating properties that this mask has it also helps to tighten pores and help them appear less visible which I notice straight after using this mask. I have also taken this mask on my last holiday and it was a really nice product to apply to the skin after being in the sun all day. Along with my skin feeling really smooth after this mask, it also refreshes the skin and leaves it looking a little glowy.

Key Ingredients:

  • Lemon = Helps motivate the pores to close and the skin can tighten resulting in smoother skin
  • Green Tea = Has anti-inflammatory properties and is very antibacterial
  • Mulberry = Packed with antioxidants to fight off free radicals

  3. My skin got more dry at the start of lockdown too! It's bounced back a bit now but it was very problematic at the time. I need to try the Glamglow mask. I've been meaning to pick that one up for a while now and I've seen so many great things about it. My favourites for very dry skin are always hydrating sleeping masks x
