No-Makeup Makeup Look

My makeup style changes so much depending on my mood, some days I want full glam and then others I go for the more natural look. Since the lockdown has started I could probably count on one hand how many times I have done my makeup but when I need a pick me up, putting on makeup always makes me feel better. On the days where I just want a bit of coverage and to make myself a bit more human I go for my no-makeup makeup look. In today's post, I'll be sharing with you all of the products I use in my no-makeup makeup routine.

Base

When I do a no-makeup makeup look I don't usually use as many products as I usually do and I also don't do as many steps to get my finished look. To make my makeup look for natural I like to pick out the right base products for the job to give me a lovely fresh canvas to work on.

To start off my look I make sure that my skin is moisturised and primed. It is always really important to have a soft and hydrated base to add makeup on too. The primer I like to use is the Gel Foundation Primer from Anna Sui, this primer is new to me and I have only used it a handful of times but I love the effect that it gives my skin. When I apply this primer my skin feels and looks really smooth and my pores appear less visible, the only issue I have with this primer is that it leaves a slight white cast on the skin but when you apply foundation on top you don't notice it. To apply the primer I just added dots of the product to my skin and then I blended it out with my fingers leaving my skin looking luminous. After I've applied the primer I then apply an eye primer to under my eyes to reduce puffiness and illuminate the skin, the product I use for this is the GOSH Prime'n Refresh Illuminating Eye roll on. This product helps to make my skin under my eyes feel amazing and look a lot more awake.

The next step for the look is the foundation/bb cream, for this I chose to use the Bali Body BB Cream (Previously Gifted) which was previously gifted to me and I have a whole review post about it. I decided to use this product because it is a buildable bb cream that has more of a medium coverage but it can be built up to give you full coverage. To get a natural finish I like to apply this product with my fingers and blend it out into the skin like I'm applying moisturiser and then I use a blending brush to make sure everything is seamlessly blended in. To get my right shade in this product I mix the shades Tan and Neutral together and by doing this it ends up being my perfect shade. When this product is blended out it gives my skin a lovely glow but I do like to still set it slightly with my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder just to make sure that I don't look oily.

For the nest step, I like to apply my concealer. With the BB Cream applied my skin doesn't really need much more coverage and concealer so I usually skip that step and just conceal my under eyes. For my under eye concealer, I use the Revolution Fast Base Concealer, this has been my favourite for ages and does an amazing job at brightening my under eyes and leaves me looking more awake and illuminated. Whenever I'm going for a no-makeup makeup look I like to have a more glowy look to my skin. To set my under eyes I then used the Rimmel Stay Matte powder again but only the tiniest amount so there's no caking.

The last step for my base is to add my bronzer, blush and highlight. For this step I don't like to use anything too pigmented or crazy in colour, I like it to be natural and soft looking. For my bronzer and blush, I chose to use my Elf Fiji Palette, I chose this because the shades in the palette are very muted and they apply lightly onto the skin just giving it a natural flushed look of colour to the cheeks with the blush and around my forehead with the bronzer. For my highlighter, I wanted to wear something that was really subtle and gave the skin the look of a natural glow so I decided to go for the W7 Glowcomotion Pink It Up, this highlighter gives the skin a luminous glow and is really natural on the cheekbones.

Eyes & Lips

For my eyes, I only wanted to do something really quick and easy and it literally only took me 2 minutes. All I do for my eyes is to apply a small amount of black kohl liner, I like to use the Soap & Glory Smolder Kohl waterproof liner and apply it to my waterline, this is a step you can miss out of you don't like the look but I've worn liner in my waterline for years so it's what im used to. For this look, I decided to wear eye shadow and just use mascara, The mascara I used in this look is the Soap & Glory Thick & Fast mascara which is one of my favourites because it defines my lashes but also adds and curl and some length.

When I do my usual makeup routine it usually takes me about 10 minutes to get my brows just the way I like them but in this routine, it takes me a maximum of 2 minutes to get them done. In this look I only use 2 different products, to fill in my brows I use the Revolution Pro Brow Mascara and put it through my brows a few times and it fills them in perfectly, sometimes all I need to do clean up the edges slightly. To make them look a bit sharper I use my MUA Precise brow pencil and slightly fill the gaps and it helps to make the brows look complete.

I had quite a few options when it comes to what lip product I wanted to use and it did take a while to decide. In the end, I decided to go for a new product that was recently added into my collection from a Birchbox. This product is KNDR Beauty Mood Balm and when looking at it it does look very bright but ones it applied to the lips it gives off a really pretty pink colour that tints the lips. This balm is also really comfortable to wear and doesn't need applying too often because the balm lasts really well on the lips.

  4. I always think a no-make up look is one of the hardest to do. It's all about creating a more enhanced version of yourself without looking like you've tried, isn't it? But you look gorgeous, very natural and glowy. Great tips, thank you for sharing :) Lisa xx
