Over the past few months of being in Lockdown and I wasn't working, I also wasn't earning as much as usual so I decided to go on a spending ban and I'm not going to lie it was hard. Now I'm finally back at work I decided to treat myself to a beauty few things, some are new and some are repurchases but its always exciting to get new beauty products right?

Juvia's Place Palette

Juvias Place The Magic Mini Palette

Now its palette was probably my favourite purchase out of everything I recently got and its also the best value item as well. I got the palette on Depop for only £7 when it is originally £25.95, I have been desperate to try out a palette from Juvias Place for such a long time now and they are a little pricey so I wanted to try a cheaper version first to see how the palette performed and it is amazing. I spent ages on Depop looking for the right palette that was a good price but also still has a lot of the product left and the palette I chose was barely used and only swatched on a few shades, It also arrived in a matter of days! When I got the palette I sterilised the eyeshadow with an alcohol spray just to be on the safe side and then I was desperate to try it out. The shades in this palette are gorgeous with a lovely mix of different colours from red to silver to green and there is also a good mix of matte and shimmer shades. When I swatched the shades I have to say that at first, I was seriously speechless, the shades are so pigmented and bold and the shimmers apply so smoothly but also with amazing pigmentation. I've played around with this palette a few times now and now it has become my favourite palette, the shades are gorgeous and you can create so many different looks with just this one palette. Now that I have tried a Juvias Place Palette I won't hesitate to go and buy one at full price next time.

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo (+) Moisturiser

When I was in lockdown I didn't wear makeup for months and this was probably the longest time that I've not worn makeup since I was around 15 and it did help to improve my skin. Now being out of lockdown and back at work and wearing a mask for a lot of the day my skin has taken a bad turn and become pretty problematic again. Watching SkincareByHyram I was reading a lot about skincare ingredients and how different ones can improve your skin so I decided to change up a few of my skincare products and that's when I decided to get this moisturiser. This isn't a brand new product to me because I've actually tried it out a few years ago and I did really like it but as I do I started using something else and forgot all about it. This moisturiser contains Niacinamide and Salicylic Acid which are perfect ingredients at treating acne-prone and problematic skin. I have been using this moisturiser for a couple of weeks now and I have noticed a big improvement in my skin, I'm not having as many breakouts and I have also noticed that my skin doesn't get as oily as it usually does and I find that my skin is improving every day because of this moisturiser.

New Beauty Products

Veet Face Wax Strips With Easy-Gel

This is a bit of a strange one but these tips were a godsend to me at the end of lockdown. This isn't the most glamourous product on the list but it is definitely the most practical and after being in lockdown for 4 months it was definitely needed. At the salon, I usually wax my own lip with a hot wax which works like a dream but because I couldn't get to the salon I had to find an alternative. I found these strips on Amazon one day and thought id just give them a try. I was a little nervous trying this product out because I knew it was going to hurt but I had to get rid of my tash. These strips are actually really easy to use, you get 20 wax strips and also finishing wipes and I used around 2 wax strips on my upper lip. Now it wasn't all fun and games it did hurt but they worked really well at getting rid of all the hair and it was quick and once the strip is removed it doesn't hurt anymore. My lip felt a little sticky but the finishing wipes help to remove any stickiness to the skin and helps to calm the skin down.

Simple Micellar Water

I know you might not believe me when I say this but I've never actually tried the Simple Micellar Water before, I know im late to the game. I have tried so many different micellar waters which I do still really like but I wanted to try something different and this big 400ml bottle was only £2.65 in Superdrug! This micellar water works really well at removing makeup and impurities and it leaves my skin feeling really smooth and fresh. I like to use this as a morning cleanser as I can be a little lazy in the morning and not want to do my full routine but when I use this cleanser I know my skin is clean and ready for me to apply my makeup on top of. This cleanser contains Glycerin which is a great ingredient at draws in moisture to the skin making this a great product for people with dry skin and need the extra moisture boost. This micellar water is fastly becoming one of my favourites.

Essence Eyeshadow Palette

Essence Crystal Power Eyeshadow Palette

After not wearing makeup for a while all I wanted to do was try out new eyeshadow palette so when I was on a trip to Tk Maxx and I saw this palette I picked it up straight away. I haven't tried too much from Essence before but anything that I have tried I have really liked. The shades in this palette are what really drew me in, out of 9 shades you get 8 shimmer shades and 1 matte shade. The shimmers are my favourite and they are all pretty neutral but still have some colour too it like good vibes only which is shimmery khaki green and reach for the stars which are a gorgeous light blue shimmer shade. I haven't actually used this palette yet because I am still obsessed with the Juvia's Place one but the shades in the plate swatch really well and the shimmers aren't chunky but apply smooth. This palette is more of an everyday palette because of the more neutral shades and are slightly more wearable and im looking forward to giving this palette a try!

  5. I definitely need to go and treat myself to some new make up products, it feels like it's been so long since I've bought something new! I also haven't wore make up in so long from being at home all the time, I'm still working from home now so still barely wear make up. The eyeshadow palettes look great, I think I might treat myself to a new eyeshadow palette! xx

  7. I love the colours in that first mini palette. I have a love for the mixture of dark dark colours and bold colours in my makeup. Trying to find palettes that are able to do that well isn't always easy - but that looks like it has some GREAT options!

  9. I love Effaclar, such an old staple. I don't use it that often because I have dry skin but I love it for hormonal breakouts etc because it's still gentle enough for sensitive skin. The Juvia's Place palette is so pretty x
