I know what you're thinking I'm a beauty blogger and I've never done a Project Pan before?! but it has only been in the last few months that I've looked into the Project Pan hashtag on Instagram and it made me really want to do my own. We now live in a world where there's so much makeup and so many new releases that we have makeup coming out of our ears (me included) and I have noticed there are products in the back of my makeup drawers that I haven't used for a while and they would be the perfect products to use. In today's post, I'll be sharing with you the products I've decided to use for my first Project Pan!

Before I started seeing Project Pan's on Instagram I wasn't really that familiar with what it was all about so I did a bit of research. Project Pan is basically the term for 'hitting pan' on products which means to finish up your makeup items. It has been designed for you to be more mindful with your makeup and to use up items before buying new ones (a problem I definitely have). To start off I only wanted to have a few products and see how that goes and then go from there. Usually, people would start a project pan at the beginning of the year and then have maybe a year or 6 months later they will see how far they got and do updates through the year. I have decided to use 8 products and I've given myself the time frame of 8 months to see how far I can get so I'm starting this in August 2021 and I hope to finish in April 2022!

When deciding on what products to use I went through all of my makeup drawers which took me ages and finally decided on products that I haven't used in a while, that I do still like and I have used quite a bit off and just needs finishing off. Makeup can take years to use up so I may not even hit pan on some of my products in 8 months time but I'm looking forward to seeing how far I can get and updating you along the way.

There was a couple of products I didn't want to add like foundation, I couldn't pinpoint one foundation I wanted to add because I use a few different ones at the same time and I frequently finish foundations. Another product I didn't want to add is any lip products, the reason for this being that I now wear a mask around 80% of the time so I think it would take ages for me to actually use any lip products up because I hardly wear any anymore.

The Project Pan Products

I Heart Revolution Heartbreakers Concealer - £6

I brought this product when it had been released and I had high expectations for it because I love nearly all of the products I try from the brand but this product just didn't live up to my expectations. It wasn't the product itself it's more of the packaging that I found a little annoying, the applicator is a heart shade which is cute but it isn't very practical and it doesn't hold too much product on the doe-foot applicator. The concealer product is actually quite nice and I did use it for a while before I moved onto something else. I picked this because I really did want it to go to waste and even though I used it I don't think I got very far and I want to see how much I can use in 8 months!

Kiko Soft Blush 108

I'm ashamed to say but I have had this product in my collection for years, I did love it when I first purchased it but I brought new products along the way and just forgot about this but when going through my makeup I chose this blush because I know I love the way it looks on my skin and I'll actually want to wear it. As you can see from the photo I have used this product quite a lot but you can still see the Kiko name pressed into the blush which I'm hoping you won't be able to see at the end of this Project Pan. Another reason why I wanted to add this blush was that it is discontinued now so I can't really recommend it on my blog anymore so I want to use it all up before I buy any new blushes.

MUA Intense Colour Eyeliner Forest Green - £2

When I first started my blog back in 2018 I was obsessed with coloured eyeliner, I went through a phase of wearing green, purple, blue and brown pencil liners all the time and then one day I just forgot about them and buried them under a bed of black liners. This liner was one of my favourites and I would use it all the time but I didn't really get too far because I still have quite a lot of product left. I also decided to go for this liner because even though it was a little dried out all I had to do was sharpen it a bit and then it's like a brand new liner. The only issue with this is that it isn't a product that I would probably use on a daily basis because it's green but I will try to use it as much as I can.

Laura Geller Baked Mediterranean Bronzer - £20

I saw this bronzer in Tk Maxx last year and I just had to have it, it has the most gorgeous packaging and the product looked great and I had heard really good things about Laura Geller products. As you can see from the photo I have used quite a bit of the product and even though I haven't hit pan on it just yet I have definitely made a dent. I wanted to add this product into my Project Pan because I've recently gone on a bronzer kick and I have a few that I'm using at the moment so I wanted to finish one up before I move on to others that I like just as much. This bronzer is also perfect for everyday makeup looks because it is just the right shade for me.

Revolution Big Lash XL Voluome Mascara - £6

Now for a normal person, I have too many mascaras, I have a whole basket full that I really don't need so I knew I needed to add mascara to this Project Pan it was just choosing which one to go for. I chose this mascara because it is a newer mascara for my collection. I first brought this one when I thought I'd ran out of mascara (I just didn't look in my drawer full of mascara) and I tried it out and it just wasn't a favourite of mine so I instantly threw it in the drawer and totally forgot about it. I had to add this mascara to is project pan because I really didn't want it to go to waste, it is practically a new product and I think I just needed to give this mascara another chance and see how I get on with it.

Collection Glam Crystals Liquid Eyeshadow Divine - £3

Back in June 2018 when I had only been blogging a few months I did a review for the Glam Crystal Eyeshadows so I have had this product for a while. When I first tried this product I used it a lot and I do think I used quite a bit of the product but I still have some left that I think I want to use up before I throw it away. Now that I've picked this product to use I'm actually looking forward to it because I remembered how much I liked it. Another reason why I wanted to use this product is that it still hasn't dried up and it still swatches perfectly after all this time!

Benefit Ka-Brow! - £22.50

Brow products is another thing that I have a collection of, I change my brow products all the time, I get bored of something that I'm using then I'll just move on. I started using this brow product from Benefit last year because I got it in a Christmas gift set, I used it quite a bit as you can see from the photo but I still have a long way to go to get to the bottom of this product. I have had this product for a number of months and it is still creamy and hasn't dried out yet so like the product above I wanted to use it all up before it starts to dry up and because too difficult to use. One of the main reasons I like this product is because of how creamy it is so I'm glad the product is still the same and I look forward to seeing how much I can get through in 8 months.

Models Own Vintage Rose Eyeshadow Palette

One of my favourite makeup items to purchase is eyeshadow palettes, I have a lot of them and when I buy new ones the older ones just get forgotten about like this palette from Models Own, This product is pretty old that I know they don't even make this palette anymore. I have quite a few different palettes that I haven't used in a while but I narrowed it down to this palette because I could see different looks I could make with it and it's very wearable for everyday use. There is enough shimmer and matte shades making it a great palette to add to my Project Pan!

Pin For Later...

I am really excited to get started with this Project Pan and to see how far I can get in 8 months time. I'll probably get bored of these products after a while but I'm not going to restrict myself too much and if I want to use other products I will. Look out for updates on this Project Pan in the next few months. have you ever done a Project Pan before?

  7. I'm interesting to see how your project pan goes. I'm currently doing one myself. I struggle with using up products I own, even though I don't have a huge collection. After I realized how long it takes to use up powder products like bronzers and eyeshadows, I'm terrified. I have years worth of make up
