There have definitely been times after a long day or a night out when I come home and I can't be asked to take my eye makeup off but we have all made the mistake before of leaving it on and looking like a panda the next day. Finding the right eye makeup remover that suits your eyes will make taking off your eye makeup a lot easier and without any irritation. If you have sensitive eyes like me then finding the right eye makeup remover is really important and I've been able to find four that I'm going to share with you today!

Simple Eye Makeup Remover

The Simple Eye Makeup Remover is the remover that I've been using for the longest and it's definitely a product that I swear by. This eye makeup remover cleanses the eyes effectively and without causing any irritation and is very kind to the delicate skin around the eyes. This product is oil-free so it's suitable to use if you are a contact lens wearer and it even removes waterproof eye makeup easily without the need for tugging or rubbing at the eyes that over time can cause the skin around the eyes to stretch and cause premature wrinkles. In this remover, they have combined sensitive loving ingredients, vitamins and micellar cleansing water making it a perfect eye makeup remover for everyone to try especially if you have sensitive eyes like me. Another thing I love about this product is that it doesn't contain any harsh chemicals or artificial fragrances or colours that can create sensitive eyes and even wrinkles! Over my time I have tried a lot of different eye makeup removers and this one is by far my favourite and to top it off it's super affordable!

Nivea MicellAIR Professional Micellar Eye Makeup Remover

This remover is one of the newer products that I've tried and so far I have been very impressed. When I usually run out of my favourite Simple remover I like to try different brands to see if I can find others that I also really like and that is where this product comes in. Years ago I was obsessed with the Nivea Double Effects Eye Makeup remover but when I used it all the time it did start to irritate my eyes, leaving them to sting and feel irritated so I then decided to give this one a try. Similar to the other Nivea eye makeup remover you need to shake it to activate the product. The micellar water in this product works like a magnet to catch the makeup, dirt and impurities from the eyes without causing irritation. I have been using this remover for a few months and haven't had any problems with irritation or sensitivity of my eyes. This remover is also really effective at removing waterproof eye makeup, it soaks the eyes and I can then wipe away the makeup super easily and quickly without rubbing my eyes. If you wear a lot of eye makeup then this product is definitely for you.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

Technically this isn't just an eye makeup remover but its works so well that I had to include it on this list. I have been using this Garnier Micellar Water as an eye makeup remover for years and it has worked really well at effectively removing my eye makeup without making my eyes feel sensitive or irritated. This product helps to lift makeup and impurities off the skin gently without the need for any rubbing or tugging. This product is actually my favourite to take if I'm going away because you really get two products in one, an eye makeup remover and a micellar water cleanser for the rest of the face. The micellar water I like to use the most is the one targeted for sensitive skin because it's delicate on the eyes and skin. One of the main things that I love about this remover is that Garnier Micellar Water is the only micellar water that is recognised by the British Skin Foundation and Allergy UK due to its proven gentle, soothing formula that is suitable for all sensitive skin!

Nivea Extra Gentle Eye Makeup Remover

When I was putting this post together I knew I had to include this remover, I don't use this one too often but I do use it when my eyes are feeling particularly sensitive like hay fever. This eye makeup remover is the perfect product to use if you have really sensitive eyes and other removers that haven't worked for you before. This remover is also perfect for anyone who has weak eyelashes because along with removing makeup it helps to keep the eyelashes healthy and keeps them moisturised. Another reason why I really like this remover is that it doesn't leave any greasy residue on the lashes and it effectively removes makeup and leaves my eyes feeling clean and cleansed.

  2. I’m guilty of not spending enough time carefully removing my eye makeup. I use my main face cleanser to remove everything, and my eyes do burn a bit after. Thanks for sharing these options - I definitely need to look into a separate eye makeup remover!

    1. I used to use makeup wipes but then I realised using a makeup remover and a cotton pad gets off the makeup a lot easier and doesn't make my eyes sensitive. The simple one is great and super affordable x
