2021 is finally over and a new year has begun and that means it's time for another yearly favourite round up. When putting this post together I noticed how many new products I tried in 2021 and how many old favourites that I rediscovered that I now use all the time. In 2021 I tried so many different products and one of my favourite parts about having a blog is being able to talk about all of my favourites. In today's post, I'll be sharing with you my favourite products from 2021!

Alya Skin Australian Pink Clay Mask*

I first tried out this mask back in July 2021 and have been using it every two weeks since then. My skin type is combination leaning more on the oily side and before trying out this mask I was on the hunt for something that will help to control the oiliness in my skin and help the appearance of my pores. This mask has been one of the main products to help improve my skin and give me a more normal skin type. my skin has become a lot less oily since using this mask. Another reason why I have loved using this mask thought-out the year has been that it has also improved the number of spots that I get, I used to always have a spot on my face and once that would go another would just appear but since using this mask I have seen a huge improvement in my skin and it looks a lot clearer and smoother. If you have oily and problematic skin and you're on the lookout for a new face mask to try I would 100% recommend this mask.

Gruum SPF 50 Face Sunscreen

Gruum is a brand that I discovered in 2021, I actually came across an ad on Instagram and when I clicked on it the product itself was free and all you needed to pay was the delivery charge. I didn't have too much of a high expectation because I had never heard of this brand before but I was pleasantly surprised. I have been using this product every day since I brought it back in May last year. I had struggled to find a good SPF that suited my skin until this one, it doesn't make my skin feel greasy or oily when applied and one of the main things that I love about this sunscreen is that it doesn't cause any white cast to my skin. This SPF soaks into the skin and leaves it feeling smooth and it's also a really good base for makeup to be applied on top of, I'll definitely be using this product more in 2022.

The Inkey List Succinic Acid Blemish Treatment

I have always suffered from problematic skin, It first started when I was a teenager and it has improved but I still get spots and before trying out this treatment I spent ages trying to find a good product that actually helped my skin. I first tried out this product back in March 2021 and I still use it to this day. There are so many things I love about this product, one of them being that it doesn't dry out the skin, it has a non-drying formula so when you use this product you won't get any dry patches. Another thing I like about this product is that you can apply a light layer of this product and because it doesn't dry down you can apply makeup on top. As soon as I feel a spot coming I apply this treatment and in a matter of days, it is gone. If you are suffering from spotty skin this is definitely a product you need to try.

The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution

Last year I was on a mission to find new products that I had never tried before and see how they work for my skin, when doing this I discovered this toning solution from The Ordinary. I had previously tried products from The Ordinary before and had been really impressed with them so I was very excited to give this product a try. Since using this toner I have cut out using physical exfoliators because this toner does just that. I have noticed a few changes in my skin since using it as my skin is less texturized and my skin doesn't become too oily. This toner can cause sensitivity to the skin that is why it may not be suitable for people with sensitive skin and it's why I only use the toner in my evening skincare routine. I have been using this toner every evening for a few months now and I still have so much product left and the price of this toner is so affordable, definitely a product that I will continue to use throughout 2022.

Revolution Brow Gel

With my brows I am not very adventurous, I use the same two products every day because I know that they work and I can get a good brow look every time. My usual brow gel ran out on me this year and I wanted to try something a bit different so I decided to use try out this brow gel from Revolution and have been loving it ever since. This brow gel does everything I want a brow gel to do, it keeps my brow hairs in place all day and it also fills them in to give the effect of fuller brows. using this product has helped me do my brows so quickly, it used to take me around 10 mins to do my brows now it only takes me around 4 minutes which is a big improvement!

Becca Weightless Blur Foundation

As soon as Becca released that they were closing down my heart broke a little bit, just before they announced this I tried their Weightless Blur Foundation and I fell in love. I actually found this foundation in Tk Maxx for only £9.99 so I snapped it up right away. I use this foundation nearly every day, what I love about it is that it's a demi-matte finish so it isn't too glowy and it also doesn't make me look cakey and it really does blur the skin and has a velvety finish to it. The shade of this foundation is also perfect for my skin tone and it makes me look natural and also a little illuminated at the same time. I am so sad that Becca isn't going to be around anymore but I will definitely be trying to find this foundation again.

Clarins 4 Colour All In One Pen Limited Editon

I don't usually add limited edition products to my blog posts because they are difficult to find but because I have used this product non-stop this year I had to include it. I have been obsessed with this product ever since I started using it a few months ago. My favourite product on this pen is the black liner, I still wear black liner every day in my waterline and this liner is perfect for that because I can wear it for hours and it doesn't budge or smudge and is a dark black colour which I love. I don't use the other shades as much but I do also really like is the green liner shade, it's a vibrant mint green that has so much pigmentation and again it stays on for hours. The lip liners in this product are also really lovely and they apply very smoothly onto the lips without dragging at the skin and stay on for hours.

Laura Geller Everyday Excellence Defining Mascara

If you have been reading my blog for a while you will know how particular I am about my mascara needs, I like my mascara to give me volume, length and curl without making my lashes look spidery or clumped and this mascara does just that. The applicator of this mascara is a bristle brush which I really like because it makes sure that all of my lashes are covered in mascara and it even coats my shortest lashes. This product helps to make my lashes look fuller and thick but without looking too clumpy and it stays in place all day. Another big plus for this mascara is that it doesn't flake off during the day and it also doesn't smudge on the eyes. This is a little bit more expensive than I usually like to spend on mascara but it is definitely with it.

  1. So many lovely products! The Alya mask sounds amazing, but as I have dry skin I don't think it would work for me. The Clarins all in one pencil is such a unique idea, I wonder if they'll ever bring it back xx

    1. The Alya Skin mask is amazing but I do think it is targeted more for oily and blemish prone skin. The Clarins pencil is so great and it reminds me of the ones we used to use as school, I really hope they do bring it back! x

  6. I've got that Clarins liner as well and I haven't used it yet, I find these sorts of products quite gimmicky, but maybe I need to give it a chance! xx
