{Ad- Gifted} I don’t think I have ever been more excited to see an email, I was asked if I wanted to try out some products from Hyrams new brand Selfless by Hyram which is powered by The Inkeky List and I jumped to the task. I started watching hyrams videos last year and became obsessed, I love skincare too so seeing all of his reactions to celebrity skincare routines is just the best. Hyram has a lot of knowledge about skincare so it was only fitting that he created his own brand. In today's post, I’ll be sharing my first impressions of products from Selfless by Hyram.

I was a very lucky girl because I was gifted a whole skincare routine of products. I got gifted the Niacinamide & Maracuja Daily Barrier Support Moisturiser, Centella & Green Tea Daily Gel Cleanser, Retinol & Rainbow Algae Repair Serum, Salicylic Acid & Sea Kelp Pore Clearing and Oil Control Serum and Mandelic Acid & Rice Bran Gentle Exfoliating Serum. I think I went to heaven when I opened the package, One of my favourite things about blogging is being able to try out new brands and this brand has been on my wish list ever since they launched.

Hyrams Skincare Philosophy is to have effective, gentle and non-irritating skincare with high performing earth-conscious ingredients. Every product from the brand is formulated mindfully to deliver visible results without excess active ingredients and Skin health and barrier protection is the brands top priority.

Packaging

Out of all of the skincare products that I've tried in the past (it's a lot) I think the packaging from this range is the best. Firstly even the outer carton packaging is gorgeous, each different product has its own packaging with a gorgeous nature design around it. I never usually keep the outer packaging of products they usually just go straight in the recycling but these products are just so pretty I had to keep them. I also love that each product is also a different shade of green or blue, it makes it easier to tell which product is which.

Price Range

one of my favourite brands at the moment is The Inkey List and they are the brand that actually helped to develop Selfless By Hyram. The Inkey List products are really affordable with most of their products being below £10 which I think is amazing. selfless by Hyram is a bit more pricey with all the products being £20 and over. I think this is a good price range for these products because it isn't a drugstore brand or a high-end brand it's right in the middle. The cleanser is £18, the moisturiser is £24, the salicylic acid cleanser £22, the mandelic serum is also £22 and the retinol is £28 which I think is a good price range for these quality products.

Green Tea Daily Gel Cleanser

This is probably the product that I was most interested in trying out. I have been obsessed with The Inkey List Salicylic Acid cleanser ever since I tried it last year and I was hoping for the best with this cleanser. This daily gel cleanser is described to be easy to use and suitable for all skin types and it effectively cleanses the skin without drying or stripping the skin. This cleanser contains an antioxidant-packed duo of Green Tea, Centella and hydrating Glycerin. I am a big fan of gel cleansers, I like the foamy feeling and how they leave my skin after using it so I was very interested in this cleanser.

I have been using this cleanser for a few weeks now and go far so great! I have been using this cleanser twice a day for my evening and morning routine and my skin has been feeling amazing. When I used this cleanser for the first time I noticed that it didn't have any smell which I love and also this cleanser has more of a yellowy tint to it. The consistency of this gel cleanser is a lot thinner than I'm used to, for example, The Inkey List Salicylic Acid has a much thicker consistency and I needed to add quite a bit of water to get it to foam up but with this cleanser, it foamed up right away and its thinner consistency means that you don't need to use as much product each time. After using this cleanser my skin still feels smooth and soft and it doesn't feel tight or dry at all. This will definitely be a product that I continue to use!

Niacinamide & Maracuja Daily Barrier Support Moisturier

I have been obsessed with products containing Niacinamide ever since I first tried it a few months ago and it completely changed my skin, it was one of the main ingredients that helped my oily skin to improve. This moisturiser sounds like a product that is right up my street, this moisturiser uses a combination of Niacinamide and bioactive Maracuja which helps to support the health of the skin, soothe irritated skin and also hydrate the skin. This moisturiser is targeted towards all skin types as it helps to normalise the skin.

This cleanser has a unique gel-cream consistency too it which feels soothing and calming to the skin and it also helps to keep the skin moisturised and healthy. I have been using this moisturiser as well ever since I got the package and have been very impressed with the results. The first thing I noticed with this product as well is that there was literally no smell to it which I loved because it's very different from The Inkey List moisturizers that I have been using which don't have the best smell to them. After my routine this moisturiser is my last step, it keeps my skin feeling soft and hydrated for hours, I would recommend everyone try out this moisturiser!

Salicylic Acid & Sea Kelp Pore Clearing and Oil Control Serum

Salicylic Acid is another ingredient that I am obsessed with, it's another ingredient that has been very important at helping my skin to improve a lot. The name of this product drew me in straight away, anything that claims to be pore-clearing and oil-controlling is a product that I need to be using. This serum includes salicylic acid and niacinamide which helps to reduce oil and also helps to unclog the pores without over-drying the skin. This serum also includes succinic acid which helps to reduce bacteria and this will then help to prevent breakouts and then the addition of sea kelp helps to protect the skin from pollutant stresses.

This is a serum that can be used daily which I really like and it's a product that's best to be used in your morning routine. I have been using this serum for around two weeks now and even though it isn't long enough to see a real difference in my skin I have noticed a few small things. My skin can be very temperamental and over the past few months I have been getting a lot more spots than usual but since using this serum I have noticed that my skin isn't as spotty as usual, I am still getting the odd few here and there but not as many as I was getting. The consistency of this serum is nice and thin so it spreads really well over the skin so you do not need a lot of product. Definitely, a product that I'm going to continue to use to see how it can help my skin.

Mandelic Acid & Rice Bran Gentle Exfoliating Serum

For the last few months, I have stopped using physical exfoliators because after years of using different ones I don't feel like they made any difference to my skin. I started to notice better results from using exfoliating serums and lotions. This exfoliating serum is doesn't over-exfoliate the skin, it is an innovative, multifunctional chemical exfoliant that exfoliates the skin effectively but gently without causing any irritation. Mandelic acid, BHA, Rice Bran and Salicylic Acid help to even out the skins texture and promote an overall smoother appearance. This serum also helps brighten the skin and help prevent clogging pores.

I have also been using this serum for around two weeks now but only around every other evening as I do not want to over-exfoliate my skin. With this product, you need around 3 weeks to really start seeing a difference and I haven't been using it for that long yet but I have noticed some results straight after using the serum. When I use this serum at night before my moisturiser my skin feels a lot more smooth and it helps to keep my skin looking a lot more luminous but not greasy which is what I love. This serum is also very gentle so it's even suitable for people who have sensitive skin.

Retinol & Rainbow Algae Repair Serum

I have always been very interested in retinol but have never really had the chance to try it. Retinol is an ingredient that I've never used before and I haven't had much experience with it so I was very excited to give it a try. This serum is described as gentle slow-release retinol with rainbow algae and tranexamic acid that work together to help reduce the appearance of post-breakout marks and target hyperpigmentation, providing a more even skin tone with a smoother and brighter complexion.

I have only used this product twice because you shouldn't use exfoliating products and retinol at the same time. I was so excited to give this product a try but sadly I got a reaction, The first time I tried this serum as soon as I applied it my skin felt fine, there wasn't any irritation or stinging but the next day I woke up with very small pimples on my forehead and nose and my skin was very itchy, at first I didn't think it was the retinol and after a few days it went down. The second time I used this and I got the same reaction I realised it was the retinol. I think this can happen for many reasons, my skin may not agree with the product or I applied it at the wrong time of year (cold weather can have an effect on the skin when you use retinol). I am still holding out hope that I'm not allergic to this product and I think I'll try it again to see for sure as I know this product can give people amazing results.

Overall I am so impressed with these products and I am in love with the brand. I love that they are trying to make the world a better place with the brand philosophy and I am so happy that the king of skincare reactions has his own skincare line! even though I did get a reaction to one of the products the others were amazing and are still working wonders for my skin.

    1. A lot of skincare is so expensive nowadays when it really doesn’t need to be. This range is right in the middle or drugstore and high end that’s why I think its really good! X

  6. They sound like a really decent brand -- I like that there are companies looking to do more than just make a profit. We need more consumerism that focuses on giving back, making the world better or helping the planet thrive, etc. Thanks for sharing!

  7. Liposomal vitamin c is often attributed to its role as an antioxidant. However, it is much more than that. No other antioxidant can perform the many additional physiological and biological roles that vitamin C fills.
