There is nothing I love more than discovering a new brand and what makes it even better is that I discovered it in Savers! Savers is probably one of my favourite shops to just have a mooch around and one day I came across a few makeup products from Sunkissed and was instantly intrigued. I had never heard of the brand before so I thought I needed to try it and everything was for under £5 which is amazing. In today's post, I'll be sharing with you my thoughts on a few products I've tried from Sunkissed.

Sunkissed is a brand that has been around since 2015 and you may know them more for their self-tan products that are really popular because they are good quality and affordable. I have never used this brand before but all the products looked so gorgeous I had to give them a try. Looking through their website I have also discovered that they have been on a mission to become a sustainable brand and in 2021 they got their PETA Approval and are a vegan brand that uses recycled materials for their packaging!

Mega Bold Lash Mascara Waterproof - £2

When I try out a new brand one of the things I always like to try out is their mascaras, If you have been reading my blog for a while you will know that I am very particular when it comes to my mascara and I like what I like so I was interested to see if this product would live up to my expectations.

The brush applicator on this mascara is a plastic bristle wand that is quite large in size, the bristles are nice and short which I like because that means that it can get into all the lashes and coat them with the product. When I tried this mascara for the first time the first thing I noticed was that because the brush was so big it did coat all of my lashes but it also gets the product on my eyelid and when I did my lover lashes it also got a bit of product on my under eyes. After applying the mascara I was actually very happy with the way that it made my lashes look, they were separated, had volume and were thicker without them looking clumpy or spidery.

After wearing this mascara for a few hours I did notice a small amount of flaking but I had been wearing the product for around 8 hours. I didn't get any smudging from the mascara even when I rubbed my eye (forgetting I had mascara on). This mascara is described as a waterproof mascara which it definitely is because it took me a few times to get it off with eye makeup removing as it was staying put. I am very impressed with this mascara, and since trying it out for the first time over a month ago I have been wearing it every day since!

Pure Passion Eyeshadow Palette - £2.49

Another product that I love to try out in new brands is an eyeshadow palette. I am obsessed with eyeshadow palettes especially mini ones so I was very excited to see a palette from Sunkissed which had a gorgeous colour story and it was only £2.49!

This palette is right up my street, it's full of neutral shades and a few really shimmery shades which look stunning. Shimmer shades sometimes worry me when they are in affordable palettes because they can be chunky so the first thing I did with this palette was to swatch the shades. as you can see from the pictures that these shades swatched beautifully, there were only two shades in the palette that didn't swatch too vibrantly like the first light shimmer shade and the 6th shade which is a light champagne shade. The other shades swatch amazingly and didn't feel chunky at all, even the mattes were very smooth.

Testing this palette out for the first time I only used a few shades to create a natural look that I could wear to work. The shades worked beautifully when blending into the shade, I used all of the matte shades in my crease and to darken up my outer corner and then blended together really well, it did take slightly longer than usual to blend to shades together but they did in the end and looked lovely. For my lid, I used the second light gold shimmer shade and I applied it with my finger, the shade came out beautifully and stayed shimmery. For a palette that was only £2.49, I am very impressed with how well my eyeshadow look came out and I have used this palette numerous times since.

Baked To Perfection Blush Highlighter Duo - £2.49

I love when brands have highlighter and blush duos, any two in one product is a win for me. I also loved that this product is a baked product I always feel like they have better pigmentation and the shades are always so pretty.

For this product, the blush is a bright pink shade and has a slight shimmer to it but doesn't have any glitter which I love and the highlighter is a gorgeous champagne shade with an illuminating glow to it instead of a glittery glow which I prefer. These shades also swatched really well, the blush wasn't as too pigmented but I actually prefer that in blush because if you want more pigmentation you can always build it up more, the Highlighter shade swatched like a dream, the shimmer on this highlighter is gorgeous.

The two products worked perfectly well on my skin, the blush gave a light flush of colour which I liked and if I wanted my blush to be a bit more pigmented all I had to do was add some more blush. The highlighter was probably my favourite product out of the two, it went on the skin like a dream and didn't make my texture look exaggerated and it gives the skin a gorgeous glow. I really like that this highlighter isn't too glittery but has more of a glowy look to it.

Sunstone Bronzer Matte - £2.49

Bronzer is a tricky product to get right so I always like to try out bronzers from brands I haven't tried before to see if I will discover a new product that I love. In this product, you get two different shades of matte bronzer in one.

In this product, you get two matte shades on bronzer a lighter and a darker shade. Just looking at the bronzer I knew that the darker shade would be perfect for me. Swatching these shades they swatched surprising well, just looking at the product I didn't think they would have much pigmentation but they do. For a bronzer, it is a little bit chunkier than I usually like but when swatching it did blend out pretty well.

Trying out this product for the first time I wanted to try out both shades to see how they perform. I first used the darker shade on my cheeks and forehead and it worked really well at giving me a bronzed look even though this product is matte it did also give off a slight glow which I liked. For the later shade, I used it on my nose and a but as eyeshadow because it was a tad too light to use it as a bronzer shade. Since trying this product for the first time I have actually been mixing the two shades together and it has been my perfect shade.
