{Ad - Gifted} Testing out and reviewing different brands is one of the main reasons that I started my blog, it has helped me to discover some amazing brands that have become a part of my everyday routines so that is why I was very excited to get the chance to try some products from Steamcream. Steamcream is a new brand to me but it is one that I've seen floating around on Instagram for a while and its a product I've always been intrigued by. I was very kindly sent two products from the brand to give a try and it has been a few weeks now so here are my thoughts!

Steamcream is a brand that was founded in 2007 and they spent their first 8 years perfecting their moisturisers. Their moisturisers have been hand made by using the Steam Emulsification Process which uses pure steam to gently emulsify a colloidal oatmeal water infusion with a blend of almond oil, cocoa. utter and jojoba oil. Doing this process helps the ingredients to preserve better and produces a product that is lightweight and fast-absorbing and this product can also be used on the face, hands and body.

Steamcream is also a brand that is trying to make skincare simple and they have created a simple 2 step Cleansing & Moisturising approach which I had the opportunity to try out!

Packaging

The packaging of both these products is a bit different to other skincare products that I've tried but I actually love the look of them. They are both packaged in small tin jars, the cleanser is just in a white plain package but the moisturiser has a gorgeous pick tin with a flower design on it which I think is really cute. These tins are the perfect size if you are travelling with the product and they also look super cute sitting on my vanity!

Cleansing Balm - £19.95

This is the product that I was most excited to try out from the brand. I have always wanted to try out a cleansing balm but have never gotten around to it so now was a perfect time. This cleansing balm from Steamcream is suitable for all skin types, it starts off in a solid form and then it turns to an oil when you massage the product into your hands and then finally a milk formula when you add water. This cleanser is described to effectively removes even the most stubborn makeup, dirt and impurities.

Key Ingredients:
  • Almond Oil - Rich in oleic acid which is an acid that is abundant in human sebum. This ingredient helps to relieve everyday strains on the skin.
  • Sugar Squalane - This ingredient is highly moisturising and glides and blends seamlessly with the skin.
  • Grapeseed Oil - High in antioxidants, this ingredient helps to soften and conditions the akin that has become dehydrated and it also helps to moisturise and improve firmness.
  • Oat Kernel Oil - Protects the skin from external stresses, supporting the skins moisture and leading to smooth moisturised skin

I have been using this cleanser in the evening for a few weeks now and have been loving it! I have always wanted to try out a cleansing balm and this one definitely didn't disappoint. Looking at the product I thought the cleanser would be quite hard in consistency but it scooped out of the jar really easily and as soon as a started massaging it into my hands it turned into an oil. When I first tried this cleanser I had a full face of makeup on and thought that would be a great test for the cleanser, the makeup literally melted off my skin and it even worked at removing my eye makeup. I then added a small bit of water into my hands to turn the cleanser into a milk and this further helped to cleanse my skin and remove all traces of makeup. I removed the product with warm water and a sponge and all of the makeup was removed from my skin. My skin felt amazingly smooth and soft after using this product and if it was on a makeup-free day I would have only done one cleanse but because I was wearing a lot of makeup I went in for a second cleanse just to be sure my skin was extra clean.

Jasmine & Evening Primrose Moisturiser - £15.95

The other product that I received is this Jasmine & Evening Primrose Moisturiser, I was excited to try out this product but not as much as the cleanser, I find it hard to find moisturisers that work for my skin so I didn't always like to try different ones but for this post, I gave it a got shot. This moisturizer is suitable for all skin types and ensures that the skin is hydrated after cleansing. This moisturise has been formulated to use during the spring months the breath life back into the skin and retain moisture.

Key Ingredients:
  • Evening Primrose Oil - Enhances the skin's texture and elasticity of the skin. Helps to improve dryness, irritation and roughness of the skin to leave it feeling smooth and hydrated.
  • Peach Flower Extract - This ingredient is an antioxidant and helps to fight against oxidative stress from the earth pollution
  • Oat Kernel Oil -  Protects the skin from external stresses and supports the skin moisture barrier

The first thing I noticed when I opened the moisturiser was the gorgeous smell, it is Jasmine and ylang-ylang and it is such a fresh but also sweet scent which just makes me think of spring any time I smell it. I have been using this moisturiser for just over a week and I have a few thoughts on it. Firstly I loved the consistency of it, it feels like it has a smooth whipped texture to it which means that it soaks into the skin instantly without leaving a greasy feeling to it. I noticed with this moisturiser that a little goes a long way so you don't need to use too much because it spreads nicely over the skin leaving it to feel extra smooth.

I have used this moisturiser on my face a few times and did actually like the way it made my skin feel but because I am used to using products that are packed with ingredients to help keep my acne away I did start to get a few spots. I don't think it was because of the cream itself but I think it was because I stopped using my normal moisturiser. What I ended up doing was going back to using my daily moisturiser but when my skin was feeling dry I would add this product on top and this made a big difference to my skin because it felt amazingly smooth. I also love that you can use this as a hand and body cream which I have done as well and have been loving it.

Another lovely plus from these products is that you can get the 2-step programme in their Spring bubble for £28 instead of the usual £35.90!

Both of these products turned out to be real winners for me, I really love the cleansing balm and I think that has now become a product that I'll use in my daily routine. Eventhough the moisturiser didn't work for me for skin as a stand-alone product I loved how it made my skin feel when I incorporated my trusty moisturiser underneath it. Overall I am loving using the profits from Steamcream. Have you heard of this brand before?

  2. I've not come across Steamcream before either. I have tried a cleansing balm from REN once before but I must confess I prefer my Origins facewash. Maybe I need to give Steamcream a try instead!
