Since being on a little break from my blog (again), I have found my love for skincare again. I have been using the same skincare for months now and I do get bored easily so I wanted to get a few new products to spice up my skincare routine again. Now that a new month has begun I thought it would be the perfect time to introduce new skincare into my routine!

The Ordinary Niacinamide 100% Powder

This powder is a product that is completely new to me, I haven’t used anything like this before and that’s what interested me straight away. At first, without reading anything about this product I thought it was a powder that you mix with water to create a face mask but it is actually a product that you mix with a water-based product and then use as a cleanser! If there’s a skincare product that is a little bit different and fun then I am definitely on board. This powder is described to rebalance oily or combination skin types, this product features a fine powder texture, offering water-soluble form of vitamin B3, this ingredient is renowned for multiple skin benefits such as it helps to balance out sebum production. This powder offers the most direct topical exposure to niacinamide, this powder can be mixed with any water-based product that has a pH of between 5.0 and 7.0, this will then help to combat blemishes, enlarged pores, congestion, visible shine, enlarged pores and sebum overproduction.

Since getting this powder I have used it a few times and it takes some getting used to. The first time I used this product I decided to mix it with my The Inkey List Hyaluronic Acid Serum, I went with this product because you get the deep cleansing benefits for the powder and then the hydrating benefits from the serum. The instructions on the powder are a little confusing because you get a small scoop with it and it says that you should only use 1/4 scoop and that is a little hard to measure correctly. When you mix the powder into the serum it just disappears into the serum and it just feels very smooth when you are using it on the skin. I haven't used this product enough yet to see amazing results from it but I am really excited to keep using it and seeing the results it gives me.

P.s Beauty Micellar Water

I have tried a lot of make-up products from Primark but I haven't tried any of their skincare until trying out this micellar water, I always like to try out new skincare that I haven't tried before from brands that I know and love. I was in need of new micellar water and thought it give this one a go to see how it suited my skin. I use micellar water almost every day, it is a part of my lazy skincare routine, I like to use it in the mornings for my cleansing routine and then if I don't have any eye make up remover on hand I use that also so it needs to be suitable for my eyes as they can be quite sensitive. This cleanser contains vitamin E which helps to soften and moisturise the skin and rose water that helps to hydrate the skin and reduces redness while effectively cleansing the skin.

I have been using this product nearly every day since I brought it a few weeks ago. I have been really enjoying using this miscalled water on my skin and I have also been using it a lot on my eyes and it doesn’t irritate my eyes at all and it effectively removes all of my makeup without needing to rub or drag at my eyes. I also really love to use this product in the mornings to cleanse my skin, I like using it because it quick and easy but also effective and leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean without any tightness which I have had from other micellar waters before.

Revolution Bon Bon Lip Sleeping Mask

For the longest time I have wanted to try a lip mask, everyone raves about the Laneige Lip mask but got £19 I think it’s a little pricey so I wanted to try out a budget version first so I decided to try one from Revolution. Scrolling through their website there was a few different scents to choose from but I decided to go for Bon Bon because I love anything sweet. I am one of those people who always have to have something on their lips, I carry a lip balm with me all the time and I reapply it constantly to keep my lips feeling smooth and hydrated. This lip mask is inspired my K Beauty which I love and is a rich overnight mask that works to smooth and hydrate even the dryest of lips, in the winter my lips get very dry and im always on the lookout for a product that's going to keep my lips feeling soft. This mask contains Caster Seed Oil which is a humectant that means it helps the skin to retain moisture and Shea Butter which has anti inflammatory benefits and helps to heal and prevent chapped lips.

Since getting this mask I have used it a few times and have been so impressed with the results. After I finish doing my evening skincare routine and just before I go to bed I apply a small amount of this mask onto my lips like I would a lip balm and go to sleep. I did feel a little weird a first going to bed with something on my lips but after the first night I liked the way it made my lips feel. Usually in the morning, I'll wake up and my lips can feel quite dry but the next morning after wearing this mask to bed my lips feel amazingly soft and moisturised. I have started to wear this mask most nights (if I remember) and I have been loving the way it has made my lips feel and its such a cost-effective option so it's a win in my book!

Revolution Skincare Recovery Face Mask

If you have been reading my blog for a while then you will know that I have blemish-prone skin, every item in my skincare collection is targetted towards helping my skin to improve and when im strict with my routine it really works but the only thing I didn't have was a face mask. I wanted a product that I could use once or twice a week to help to further improve my skin. I still get spots now and again and my skin can still be pretty oily and that is what I would like to fix. This mask helps to prevent spots, and fight blemishes and breakouts. It has ingredients such as Panthenol (Provitamin B5) which helps to soothe and soften the skin to keep it moisturised and prevent any dryness to the skin. It also has Urea, Trehalose, Sodium PCA and Sodium Hyaluronate to keep the skin soothed from dryness that may cause the skin to be irritated.

I didn't know what to expect when I first tried out this mask but I was pleasantly surprised. I thought that it would be more of a cream consistency but actually it was more of a gel-like product which I really enjoy. I am one of those lazy people that stays away from clay masks because they take forever to wash off but this mask takes seconds for it to be removed. I like to use this mask now maybe once or twice a week and j have been loving the results. It leaves my skin feeling amazingly smooth and soft and I have only been using it a few weeks so I haven't seen any miracles yet I am really enjoying using this mask. I also like that you can use it in two different ways, you can apply a thick layer and leave it on for 10 - 15 minutes or you can apply a thin layer and wear it as an overnight mask.

  1. I love Revolution Skincare and I've seen those lip masks before but never got one. My lips can get really dry so I might have to try one of the overnight lip masks as they're so affordable as well!

  2. Like you, I've seen a lot of coverage of the Laneige lip masks but the price put me off. I've been using a lip balm before bed if my lips are dry, but this seems like a really good budget mask to try - thank you!
