Christmas is literally around the corner (2 days and counting) so I thought that it would be the perfect time to share with you my super quick and easy Christmas day makeup look. On Christmas day I like to spend more time eating and drinking than I do doing my makeup so I like my look to be Christmassy glam but still super simple. I have done the same routine for a few years now and have perfected it so it now only takes me 15 minutes! If you need a little inspiration on what to do for Christmas day makeup then carry on reading...

Base

For my base, I wanted to use products that I know work really well on my skin so I decided to go for my holy grail drugstore foundation which is the MUA Pro Base foundation, this product is perfect for Christmas day because it's matte (which is my favourite finish) and it's long-wearing so I can apply this foundation on in the morning and it will still look really good hours later. Another reason why I choose this foundation is that it is a dream to blend, it only takes me a few minutes to blend the foundation into my skin and it gives me a lovely velvety finish. To save a bit of time I don't use any extra concealer on my face because the foundation gives me just the right amount of coverage without it.

To brighten up my under eyes a bit I chose to use the Revolution Fast Base concealer which is my favourite and that I use every day because it brightens up my under eyes and makes me look more human, this concealer also blends out super easily so its a product that doesn't take too much time to apply and still look fresh as a daisy. One more thing that I love about this product is that it's so affordable, it's only £3 and I have purchased so many of these concealers before and I love them!

For Christmas this year I am going to my boyfriends family so that means I have to pack a small overnight bag with my makeup so I like to take as little as possible so that is why I chose to use the Collection Blush & Glow palette that includes two blush options, a highlighter and a bronzer shade. For my Christmas day look I actually used all of the products in the palette, I mixed a small amount of the two blushes together to give me a gorgeous flush of colour on the cheeks and then I added the highlighter to my cheekbones, nose and lightly on the forehead to add some sparkle and then I used the bronzer to deepen up my skin and I used this as a contour as well.

To set the face I used my new favourite powder which is the Maybelline Fit Me Powder that I have been using for a few weeks now. I love this powder because it smooths my skin, sets my foundation and makes me look matte but not cakey.

Eyes & Lips

Doing my eyeshadow is my favourite part of my Christmas makeup routine, as much as I love doing eyeshadow I don't like to spend ages on it so I decided to use a palette I know that I love. I decided to go for the I Heart Revolution Heartbreakers Palette in Majestic, this palette has a gorgeous mix of neutral shades to create a makeup look that can work for the day and the night which I think is perfect for Christmas day. For this look I only used three different shades, the third matte brown, I used this on my crease, then I applied the super glittery gold shade (6th shade along) to do this I just used my finger and it applied effortlessly and then finally I used the deeper brown matte shade on my (7th shade along) to deepen up the outer corner and my lower lash line. This look all together took me around 5 minutes to do which is perfect for a quick and simple Christmas day look.

For my brows I did the usual routine that never fails me, I applied the Revolution brow mascara to my brows to fill them in and add some depth and then I use the Benefit Ka-Brow to sharpen up the edges and define my brows a bit more. Out of everything else in the routine, this probably took me the longest time as it takes so much concentration.

The last part of my makeup look is probably what I was most excited about and that's the lipstick. This year I was gifted a Pat Mcgrath BlitzTrance lipstick that is so beautiful I needed to wear it for Christmas. This lipstick just screams Christmas to me, firstly because of the packaging (how gorgeous is it!) and because it's literally glittery lipstick. The shade I have is Flesh Fatale which is a gorgeous brown neutral shade that works perfectly with my glittery eyeshadow look. I thought that the glitter in this lipstick would be too much but it's very subtle and you can only see it in certain lights. This is a lipstick that I will probably only ever wear at Christmas but it's still a gorgeous shade and you can't go wrong with a glitter lipstick at Christmas!
