For the next instalment of this series, I have decided to show you five of my favourite mascaras all for under £5. This was actually a hard task as most drugstore and high street mascaras now usually start from around £7.99. Most of these mascaras I've been using for years and a few are new discoveries that I've been obsessed with. Here I'll give you some mini mascara reviews with before and after photos prove how good they are!

1. Collection Supersize Fat Lash Mascara£2.99

This is the newest addition to my mascara collection and I can probably say one of my favourites, I have been mainly using brush bristle mascara wands for a while as I like how they coat all the lashes and this wand is a good size which fits all the lashes nicely and coats them all. I also like to add volume and thickness to my lashes and this mascara does just that. This is one of the best mascaras that I own, which gives a natural but then still dramatic lash look. I like to layer this mascara a few times maybe 2 or 3 times just to add the thickness. I don't usually wear fake lashes (because I can't apply them!) but this mascara helps to give me that false lash effect that I love.

This was the first product from Essence that I tried and it didn't disappoint, it's one the cheaper products on my list but you definitely wouldn't know that by how well it performs. This mascara has a much skinnier brush applicator than the other mascara on my list but I actually really enjoy that about it. It works really well at coating all the lashes especially the tricky ones in our inner and out corners of the eye. I also really enjoy using this mascara on my lower lashes for added definition. For the price tag, it works amazingly well at giving my lashes the definition and volume I like without flaking away during the day.

This mascara is my favourite no-frills mascara, it does exactly what it says it's going to do and works really well for its very small price tag. I mainly use this mascara for my lower lashes, it separates and adds just the right amount of the product without it going clumpy. I do sometimes wear this mascara during the day or at work for a more natural look. If I wear this product on my upper lashes I tend to use it as a base mascara and then layer it up with other products just to add slightly more volume and length. This is my go-to mascara for my lower lashes as I don't like them to have too much mascara on and look like spiders legs!

When I heard that Boots were discontinuing the Seventeen makeup brand I was so devestared because of how much I love this mascara but I'm going to be stocking up. This was one of the first mascaras that I brought which made me love brush bristle applicators, it's a bigger appliacator than the rest of my mascaras and it's great at giving you that wide eye effect which I love. This is the mascara that made me obsessed with the volumised look. I also really enjoy the formula of this product, it lasts all day without flaking or fading away. This mascara has rivalled some of my more highend mascaras. My favourite thing about this mascara is that it can be used for both upper and lower lashes perfectly, with giving the upper lashes enough volume but not too much for the lower lashes.

This is probably a nostalgic Mascara for most people as it is an old gem of mine. I have literally been using this mascara since I was 14 (not the same tube!) I have been using this mascara on and off for years, its an all rounder mascara that I think everyone should have in their collection. This mascara has a much smaller applicator than the other mascaras that I own but I actually quite like that about it, it fits nicely into the lower lashes and also coats all of your little upper lashes that can be hard to get with bigger mascara wands. I also like to use this mascara as a base to put a more thicker mascara on top but for days that I want a more natural look.

Pink For Later...

Finding all of the mascaras to add to this list was a bit hard because of the price I set myself but it actually helped me to rediscover some really great mascaras that won't make a gaping whole in your purse. Have you used ny of these mascaras before?

  2. Love that you found a lot of nice mascara for such a good price. Who needs to break the bank when you can still get your lashes? Pretty neat that these mascaras have different functions whether you want them to look natural or have thicker volume. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

  5. The Collection mascara was one of the first ever mascaras I used back when I started out in makeup as a teen. It was actually pretty good for the price! Also, I know the maybelline great lash is a classic, but can you believe I have STILL never tried it?! I really don't deserve to call myself a beauty blogger LOL!

  7. I've only ever tried Great Lash from the ones on this list and I quite like it for more natural makeup days. I'm usually really fussy when it comes to mascara so when I find something I love I don't try a new one for a really long time. I think it's great that you included a photo of each of them on your lashes, that'so helpful! x
