Spring and nearly summer have arrived so it is now the season for dry lips which I know no one is very fond of. Dry and cracked lips are not the best to deal with especially when the weather removes all the moisture from the lips, so I thought I'd put this list together of all the best lip balms to tackle those pesky dry lips. I have also added some dry lip treatments to aid in the rehydration of our lips!

Lip Treatments

I thought before we get to the really good stuff, I'll show you the products that I use to prep my lips before I apply any other lip products to make sure that they are extra smooth and with no dry areas.

Lush Bubble Gum Lip Scrub

If you haven't heard of this product before then I definitely know you live under a rock because the Lush Lip Scrubs have been a must-have in the Beauty community for years now. This isn't a product that I use every day but when my lips are feeling extra dry then I whip this out and all is right in the world. I have a strong love for the bubble gum flavour and scent that this scrub is in and I must admit that I do just lick it off after using it because it's that good (I hope it's edible). I also like to use this scrub after a long day of wearing liquid lipstick, I find that it helps to remove any traces of the product and leave my lips squeaky clean. After scrubbing my lips for a few seconds they feel amazingly smooth with all the dead skin removed and it leaves the perfect base for further lip products.

Barry M Berry Good Lip Oil

If you're like me and can't justify spending £19 on the Clarins lip oil then this product was made just for you. When I'm doing a full lip prep when my lips are dangerously dry that when I like to use this oil. I use this lip oil mainly for an extra treat and to really deeply nourish my lips. This lip oil has the tiniest hint of colour which I actually like to wear on more natural days just to give the lips some extra shine. Another thing that I love about this lip oil is the smell as it has a gorgeous scent of berries. This is a product that I'll be taking on holiday with me as when I get some sun my lips suffer but with this oil, it helps to really add moisture and hydration to my lips.

Lip Balms

Now we get to the real gems of the list which is the balms. These balms on this list are my real holy grails that I will always reach for when my lips are particularly dry.

Dr PawPaw Original Multipurpose Balm

This balm has been a part of my collection for a long time and it is a product that I consistently repurchase every time that I run out of it, I've also included it in a few posts like in my November Birchbox and My November Favourites. What I love most about this product is that it's a multipurpose balm and even though I use it mostly for my lips I also like to use it on different drier areas like my hands or knees. This balm has a nice thick consistency that leaves the lips feeling extra smooth. This lip balm also leaves the lips with a nice shine to them making it the perfect balm to apply on top of different lip products to add an extra sheen to the look. Most of my other lip balms give the lips a slight tingly feeling but this balm doesn't which makes it extra comfortable to wear. This balm is always in my bag for quick touch-ups on the go.

Malibu Lipcare Vanilla Flavour Balm

Whenever I go on holiday or I'm in the sun for some time I always have to have this balm. The Malibu lip balm has an SPF 30 which is just perfect for spending time in the sun. I think people forget that you need to also protect your lips from the sun as they can also get burnt which really isn't good. This balm is slightly different from the balm about as it isn't in liquid form which I find can be a lot more convenient when reapplying on the go. This product protects from UVA and UVB rays and it's also water resistant meaning you can go in and out of the pool all day without needing to reapply every 5 minutes. I have the Vanilla scent of this balm which I love but if Vanilla isn't your thing it also comes in so many different scents like strawberry and coconut. This balm along with around 3 more of these will be in my holiday makeup bag.

Carmex Strawberry Moisturising Lip Balm

I know I don't have to say too much about this lip balm because I know everyone under the sun has used a Carmex product before. This balm comes in all different packaging but I actually prefer the tube version as its a lot easier to get enough product out onto the lips. This is one of the balms that gives the lips a slight tingly sensation which gives the lips a slight plump look which is always great, this doesn't last for too long though if you don't like that feeling. This balm also has an SPF of 15 which is great for taking away with you (you would just need to apply the balm more times throughout the day to keep the lips fully protected). Carmex is a product that I have loved for years and even though I've used many differed lip balms I always end up coming back to this balm.

Pin For Later...
Even though lip balms aren't the most exciting of beauty products they are one of the most practical and they help to keep our lips smooth and crack free. Do you have any lip balms that you can't live without?

  5. My lips are permanently dry, it's so annoying. I used to be obsessed with the Lush scrub years ago, they taste so good! I love the sound of the vanilla lip balm, it's so important to remember lips need SPF too. Nuxe Rev di Miel is my go to (the one in the pot, the stick version is awful) x

  8. Strangely enough I haven't tried any of these and I am a huge lip gloss, mask and scrub fan. I may have to save myself a little money and try some of these because it sounds like they really work :)
