Revolution has done it again, they have brought out a new product that I've instantly wanted to ey have brought out another concealer in the Fast Base range which is specifically for the Under eye area. Again I went on an innocent shopping spree without the intention of buying anything new but I stumble across this concealer and has to get it because it's shiny and new. In this review, I will give you my review and first impression on this concealer.

First Thoughts

I first saw this concealer on the Revolution Twitter page and I actually totally forgot about it until I went into Superdrug and saw them all lined up and I knew I had to get one. This concealer instantly reminded me of my favourite under eye concealers which is the Maybelline Eraser Eye which I mention in my recent empties post, it reminded of that concealer mainly because of the applicator. This concealer comes in 14 different shades with different undertones ranging from fair with pink undertones and dark with neutral undertones, this means it should fit a lot more skin tones. The colour that I decided to go for was C8.5 which I actually have in the Conceal & Define concealer which I got by accident because it's too light for all over the face-concealing.

Packaging

The packaging of this concealer isn't as pretty as the conceal & define concealer (there's no pink on this concealer packaging!) but it's very sturdy and does what you need it to do. It's a full plastic component with a twisty bottom to get the product out and it's in a nude colour which a lot of Revolutions base products are. It's a very lightweight product which is great if you want to take it travelling, this product also has a clear lid so you can see the applicator. Speaking about the applicator it's very similar to the Maybelline Eraser Eye being a fluffy doe foot but it's actually a bit smaller which I prefer as it fits under the eye perfectly.

Product Amount

This product has 4.5ml which are actually a bit more than the Conceal & Define which is 4ml and I found I ran out of the concealer really quickly. Comparing this product amount to the Maybelline concealer which has 6ml of product this one does have less at only 4.5ml but it is also less expensive at only £5 whereas the Maybelline concealer is £8.99. I still think this concealer would last me longer than my other Revolution one because the applicator only lets out a small amount of product with each twist.

First Impression

When I first tried out this product I was pleasantly surprised by how much I really enjoyed it, it applied really easily and blended out lovely into my skin. I've been wearing this concealer for a few days now and become officially obsessed, it may have beaten my all-time favourite under eye concealer which is the Maybelline one. I only needed to twist the product a few times when a small amount came out of the top of to the fluffy applicator, there was enough product to cover both of my under eyes without needing to apply any more. When blending this concealer I decided to use my fingers which I do most of the time and it blended pretty easily, I've also tried blending it out with a damp beauty sponge which I also really like but for an easy application I usually use my fingers.
This concealer made my Under eyes look really smooth and bright all day, I did have to apply a powder to set the concealer which again I always do. On the outside of this product, it claims to be a lightweight buildable concealer that conceals dark circles and imperfections which I think it definitely does! Wearing this for a full 10hour shift I must say the rest of my makeup didn't look so great but my under eye area was still smooth and creaseless which is very hard to do because I have the worst creasing ever. What I like most about this product is the applicator, it fits really nicely into my under eye area and right in the corner of my eye without it going everywhere.

Will I continue to use this product

I will definitely continue to use this product as it's already in my daily makeup bag!

  6. This sounds great! I'm really not a fan of the hygiene element of those sponge tipped concealers though. Although at that price I would love to try it and see what I think. I haven't seen this in my local stores yet though. When they show up I'll have to have a swatch and see if they have one pale enough x
