Since the age of around 14, I have been obsessed with makeup. I love playing around with different looks and different styles of makeup and one thing we need to create amazing looks with our makeup tools. Along with my collection of makeup I have also collected quite a few different tools to help me get the makeup look I desire. In today's post, I'll be sharing with you my favourite makeup tools that give me a flawless makeup look!

Spectrum A05 Angled Cheek Brush

Spectrum brushes in general are amazing, their quality is great but also how cute is the packaging of all of their different collections including the star collection that I have. This brush is one of my favourites from the brushes that I've tried from Spectrum. This brush is the perfect angled face brush for either blush or bronzer. I love to use this brush for bronzer, it seems to fit right in the hollows of my cheeks and is able to carve out my cheekbones. Another reason why I really like this brush is because of the softness of the brush hairs and it the perfect brush to lightly buff on blush and bronzer. If you are new to makeup and arent very confident with applying products then I would definitely recommend this brush because it makes applying powder products so easy!

Real Techniques Powder Brush

When I first started out with makeup I had no idea what brushes to use and what brands are good until I discovered Real Techniques. Real Techniques brushes are very high quality, accessible and affordable. From Real Techniques, I have quite a few different brushes that I use on a daily basis but this powder brush is probably one of my favourites. This brush is fluffy and full making it the perfect brush for all over the face powder. The brush also isn't too dense, there's just the right amount of brush hairs to give you perfect powder application. With this brush, you can use it to lightly dust powder over the skin or you can also use it to add powder foundation for more coverage to the skin. Another reason this brush is amazing is because of how soft it is and makes makeup apply flawlessly to the skin. I have had this brush for years and have washed it so many times but it hasn't lost its softness or shape and still makes my makeup look amazing.

BESTOPE Foundation Brush

This brush is actually an Amazon find from all the way back in 2019, I was testing makeup brushes for my Testing Amazon Makeup Brushes post and discovered this brush. The whole set itself is amazing because you get 16 brushes all for only £9.99 but this brush from the set stands out. My favourite brush from this set is the Flat Face Brush which I have found is perfect to apply liquid foundation. This brush just seems to apply foundation flawlessly in a matter of minutes. The brush hairs on this brush are short and dense so the brush doesn't soak up a lot of product and it blends out foundation on the skin without leaving any streak marks from the brush hairs. This brush set is such a steal, you can do a full face of makeup with just this set as it also includes eyeshadow brushes, this is definitely my favourite find from Amazon!

B. Cosmetics Beauty Blender Makeup Sponge

When the Beauty Blender was all the rage on Youtube a few years ago I splashed out £20 on a sponge which was really great but if you know about makeup sponges after a while they need replacing and I didn't want to spend that money again so I went looking for a dupe and I found this sponge. I have tried a lot of sponges before that have been too hard but this brush is perfect. When water is added it swells up to a good size and is soft enough to apply liquid products to the skin beautifully. This sponge is definitely a dupe for the beauty blender and this sponge is super affordable at only £2.95. If you loved the beauty blender but you're wanting to try something more affordable definitely give this beauty sponge a go!

Morphe Pro Pointed Blender M501

When I first started out with makeup I used to apply my highlighter with a fan brush, I would just slap it on and go from there, I wasn't too concerned about the application but that was until I started watching youtube. All the YouTubers I would watch was using more of a dome-shaped brush to apply their highlighter and it looked so much better so I had to find a brush similar and that's when I found this brush. This brush from Morphe is my absolute favourite brush for applying highlight. This tapered brush with the softest bristles gives you precise application of highlighter and blends out the product flawlessly. Another reason why I like this brush is that it's so easy to apply the highlighter and get a gorgeous look without much effort.

Luxie Tapered Blending Brush

With eyeshadow brushes, I have a big collection that I've collected over the years of all different brands and a lot of them work really well, some including the ones I got from Amazon but this eyeshadow brush stands out ahead of all of them and its a brush everyone should have in their collection. I would say if you're going to only have one brush in your collection make it a blending brush and possibly make it this brush from Luxie. This brush makes applying eyeshadow easy and quickly, it blends out shadow with little to no effort which is what I love most about it. I use this brush every time I do my eyeshadow and it helps to give me gorgeously blended looks by buffing the shades onto the eyelids.

  1. This was such a helpful read! I am not the best on makeup so I love reading and getting better at it! I have the spectrum set of brushes too and truly love them. Would like to give a try to the Real Technique ones, they sound great and hear great reviews about Morphe too!

  2. I had no idea there were so many different types of brushes around - TBH, with the exception of the brush that came with my Bare Minerals powder foundation, I just use my fingers to blend as I have a cream blush and don't wear eyeshadow!

    1. There are so many different makeup brushes and tools it can get confusing on which ones to use. I still use my fingers a lot for applying products and they are also a really good free makeup tool! X

  8. I never knew there were different types of brushes around. I love the foundation brush you shared and the makeup sponge. They look so cute. Some ladies have hundreds of makeup brushes and sometimes, I end up wondering how they are able to tell which exact one is used for this or that haha. Lovely post.

  9. I am literally rubbish with knowing about make up brushes - I've got a set I got from Superdrug ages ago and that is it. This is really making me want to invest though - the Real Technique brushes sound great and that final eyeshadow brush is definitely one I'd use a lot. Hmm, perhaps time for some investment... Great post!
