I have always been obsessed with beauty but for some reason I never really got into perfume properly until a couple of years ago and now I am obsessed. I now have a collection of perfumes that I work through throughout the year depending on the season and now we are in the middle of winter I thought I’d share my favourite winter perfumes with you.

 Zara Gardenia

This perfume is a newer find for me, I tried this perfume for the first time a few months ago and have been obsessed ever since. I have been using this perfume even when it isn’t winter but the notes in this perfume makes it perfect to wear during the winter months. This perfume is described to be fruity and floral which it is but it also has a more musky scent to it which I think makes it great to wear during the colder months. If you like vanilla scents then you will definitely love this perfume, this product also has a hint of coffee which as soon as I smell it just reminds me of winter. Another thing that I love about this perfume is that it is a dupe for the YSL Black Opium which is much more expensive at £83!

Fragrance Notes:
  • Top Notes - Orange Blossom
  • Middle Notes - Coffee
  • Base Notes - Vanilla

Jean Paul Gaultier Classique

This is probably the perfume that I have used the longest, I have purchased this perfume a few times and I’ve also asked for it for Christmas, I’ve probably had 4 or 5 of this perfumes, I go through this a lot because I love it. I usually reach for this perfume when I’m going out of an evening because I love the soft yet musky scent that this perfume has. This perfume really lives up to its name because it’s a classic, it came out in 1993 and it is described to be bold and sweet which I think is definitely true. Whenever I think of winter it always reminds me of vanilla so I love that this perfume has a vanilla scent to it and also it has a sort of warm spicy scent which makes me think of winter instantly. The previous Zara perfume was more of a day time winter perfume and I love wearing this one on a winter evening especially if I’m getting dressed up!

Fragrance Notes:
  • Top Notes - Orange Blossom, Star Anise, Rose, Mandarin, Pear and Bergamot
  • Middle Notes -Ylang Ylang, Ginger, Orchid, Iris, Tuberose and Plum
  • Base Notes - Vanilla, Amber, Musk, Cinnamon and Sandalwood

Chanel No5

I know that not very one is going to like this perfume and someone has even described it as old lady perfume I have a love for this perfume. I have had this perfume a few years and have hardly made a dent in it because it’s so expensive and I only use it for very special occasions, I actually wore this perfume on the night I got engaged! This is definitely the most expensive perfume in my collection and it an investment. One of the reasons I tried this perfume was because it was a perfume that Marilyn Monroe wore and I’m obsessed with her! I love this perfume because it is ultra feminine and I feel amazing whenever I wear it, it has a woody scent but also has a slight sweetness to it which I love. If your looking to spend a penny on a new perfume definitely give this perfume a try.

 Fragrance Notes:
  • Top Notes - Aldehydes, Ylang Ylang, Neroli, Bergamot and Peach
  • Middle Notes - Iris, Jasmine, Rose and Lily of the valley
  • Base Notes - Sandalwood, Vanilla, Oakmoss, Vetiver and Patchouli

Diesel Loverdose Red Kiss

This is such a classic perfume for me, I have been wearing it on and off since I was in my late teens and I’m still obsessed with it. I do love the original Loverdose but Red Kiss has to be my favourite because it has the added vanilla scent to it and it’s a lot sweeter. This perfume just reminds me of Valentine’s Day obviously because of the packaging but also the woody but also spicy scent that it has. This perfume is perfect for winter because it has the added scent of vanilla, like the other perfumes on this list. I find that this perfume transitions well from day to night, it is sweet for the day but also musky enough for it to be perfect to wear during the evening.

Fragrance Notes:
  • Top Notes - Sugar, Black Currant, Apple and Bergamot
  • Middle Notes - Cacao Pod, Hazelnut, Orange Blossom and Apricot
  • Base Notes - Patchouli and Amber

  1. I'll be honest, I don't switch my perfumes for the seasons. I'm sure there's perfume people out there saying you should though! I love the sound of some of these, especially the Jean Paul one. I'm currently using Miss Dior x
